The first two were good. The last one was bad. Malkin was no where near the puck. It was a garbage no call. Take off the homer glasses

I’m not saying it wasn’t a penalty. My point was they let a lot things go later in the game. Early on the rangers got called for a ton and they were correct calls. Lazy penalties

The Penguins were out-attempted, 18-2, during Jeff Carter's 9:46 of 5v5 ice-time tonight. They did not put a shot on goal with him out there. That comes one game after they registered one shot on goal with him on the ice at 5v5.

Same as last game. Fourth line still getting buried but the other 3 did pretty well. First time all year they've looked like they have a third line.

I've wondered if they just can't match when the other team picks it up, or at least not be able to impose their will like they could a few years ago. If so, better to play safer if they can't push play.

Could very well be but I’m not completely sold on that. There seems to be a shift in play once the 3rd rolls around and they have a lead. Could be mental, could be coaching. Probably both.

Did the rangers score while the 4th line was on the ice?

I've pondered it a lot. I've watched most of the games this season except when I went to Florida in November. There's be an awful lot of games the Pens give us one turd of a period and two golden ones. There's been a lot of games that turd of the period was the 1st period and then they couldn't climb back out of the hole that occurred in it with two great periods after it. They're also one of the best come from behind to win teams this season. There's been an awful lot of games, like the last two, where they were f'n awesome through the 1st two periods then have a lackluster 3rd. Wildly inconsistent within games a lot of the games this season.

I think there's only a few teams in the league having 3 golden periods in a game and even those teams aren't doing it every single game. Its a hard league to have 3 dominating periods in, especially against teams that are stacked with talent. Always have to expect push back from quality opposing teams...especially when those teams know you've blown it so many times in the 3rd.

I think its both coaching and mental. I think the coaches are asking them to try and shut it down a bit and not take as many risks but at the same time they've blown 11 third periods leads, second only to the Sharks in this, and they have confidence issues in this situation.

Yeah at least its the 4th line now....and Nylander looked f'n awesome again, he almost made it 3-2 with a few mins left in regulation. I think Poehling would be an upgrade at C over Carter on that 4th line...problem is when he gets back Nylander will most likely have to be sent down again. If that weren't the case, and knowing Sully wouldn't scratch Carter, then I'd move Carter to wing for Poehling and scratch Heinen.

And you do the same! That pos malkin cross checked a ranger in the back from behind! Nothing but a gutless punk! Then he gets hit and goes down like he got shot! Bad calls on both sides! Take off your hoer glasses don’t be a hypocrite.

Yes, the former Calder, Conn Smythe, Hart, 2 time Art Ross and 3 time cup champion is a gutless punk. No guts at all.

He does take a lot of sh!tty penalties though haha no debating that. Lucky he didnt get one on what you mention there and the Rangers are lucky they didnt get one on the hit form behind on him without puck...because they probably wouldn't of gotten the game to OT if there was a penalty there, as it resulted in one of their only odd man rushes in the whole game and a goal.

It wasn't egregious. No reason for them to call that penalty on Geno, 2 guys battling.

I mean, the dude got a shoulder or forearm to the numbers, it's pretty hard to stay on your feet when you don't know a hit in the back is coming. I don't think he "dove" but I don't think it was a penalty, and I'm fine with the no-call.

That's a blatant textbook penalty not called. The TNT announcers and intermissions crews were also all in agreement. Puck nowhere near him and hit from behind. Pens got away with sh!t though too, of course. I didn't feel the refs were better for either team yesterday overall.

He's an amazing player no doubt but he's also an extremely dirty player. Lots of accidentally on purpose elbows and slew foots. Not as bad as Marchand, just not a victim , either.

He does have a bit of a dirty streak, no doubt...have to being the Pens all time penalty mins leader haha. Bit too sooky at times too, retaliates a lot. I have mixed bag of thoughts about that because while it can hurt the Pens at times it also shows he really cares haha. However, gutless he is not.

It was also retaliatory which is usually what the refs keep an eye on. Trocheck was mad Geno hit him 5 seconds earlier.
