What a sh!tstorm. - madmike71
Brutal decision by Carter to play that puck that HE hit with a high stick and bring the face off back into the Pens zone. |

Can we petition the league to only play 40 minute games against the Isles? They just own us in 3rd periods. |

Haha. The Nelsonator. Islanders deserved that one again. D zone coverage is on point, calmly turn it on when they need to. |

Maybe Sid should win a face off when he needs too? At least Carter won the face off and got the puck out. |

Whelp... If we do get into the playoffs, they won't have to play that team. Pens played that whole period like they expected to lose. |

Might be the most annoying loss of the year. It was so avoidable. Carter knew he high sticked the puck. Knew the FO would come back. Yet big brain decided “(frank) it”. |

Yeah he got the puck out and brought it right back in with his dumb play.
The faceoff never should have happened.
Sid trying to win the face off on his bad side? Yeah that’s almost an expected lost faceoff. |

Not really an expected loss. Tie the guy up and let your wingers win it. Sid tried to win it clean. |

I’m more pissed about Malkin’s annoying unnecessary penalty in the first honestly. 6 million a year you should be smarter than that. |

How the (frank) did they lose this? I missed the 3rd. It seems we dominated them for the 3rd game in a row and found away to lose a 3rd time. |

Didn’t really dominate them. The Islanders can play in their own zone. Xgf might say one thing but it isn’t what’s really going on. |

To hit a guy that doesn’t have the puck, while the puck is actively leaving your d zone is just ridiculous. Unless he just wanted the PIM record, I get that but should have broke it in a cooler way. |

Isles only had 12 shots through two periods. HDCF at 5 on 5 were 13-4 for the Pens. You don't know what you're watching, bud. You've just had a hard on for the Isles for years even though they're nothing like they were a few years ago under Trotz. When they win you think you're right about everything, post edgy comments and do some chest pounding, it's routine at this point. Isles picked it up in the 3rd, and props to them for doing so, but once again the difference in this game is mainly goaltending. |

It seems to be a consistent theme when we play you guys this season. You completely outwork us for two periods but we keep it within reach. We wake up in the third and the Pens take their foot off the gas a bit then we storm back. |

Yup haha... I even called the score yesterday, 4-3 Isles.
There's no one, or nothing, that will convince me though that if the goalies were swapped in each game the Pens wouldn't win. Couple of Isles goals kind of trickled/bounced in and a couple of the Pens chances trickled just shy of going in. Some game of inches going on too.
I found Jarry was having trouble tracking pucks that were right around him last night. Wouldn't quite say "the guy blows" though 😉 hahaha |

I don’t disagree. Sorokin is one of the best goalies in the league. There’s not many teams that are going to outgoalie us. To me grabbing a goaltender has probably been your biggest need the last few years. |

Islanders beating the Pens by waiting them out, making things uncomfortable for them, then turning the switch to win the game is what’s routine. Islanders deserved every bit of that win, especially with two goals on really dumb penalties from the pens leader group. |

For a two month period in this season Jarry was #1 in all stats....then he's injured. He was one of the top goalies in league two years ago when the Isles won round 1 in six games...he was injured..came back for game 2 and was the main reason the Pens lost that series. He only played game 7 last playoffs on a broken and bleeding ankle. There's a history of him not being durable but not only that, every time he's had a long layoff its taken him a few weeks to get it back. If he can stay healthy I expect to see that soon. Big if.
Everyone here wanted a goalie this trade deadline and I'm pretty sure most of everyone here werent comfortable with the exact same two goalies again this season, this past offseason. ...so Hex extended DeSmith...gave a him a raise too haha. |

What a crock of sh!t. You said the Isles know how to play in their own zone. They were a sloppy mess in their own zone, coughing it up and missing each other with passes,. Giveaways and turnovers aplenty. You dont get higher danger out chanced at 5 on 5 13-4 when you're great in your own zone. They have the best goalie in the league.

What's comical is how the Isles just completely own us. They let us do whatever we want for two periods, then say okay, you had your fun, now it's time to play hockey and show us how it's done. |

...yet the Pens still had a better 3rd period than them statistically.

They don't how, just how many.
I feel your pain. It's happened too many times over the past five or six years for it just to be bad luck.
What I don't understand is these guys have done it before. The Pens should be the guys who say, 'We are the winners, not you.' Maybe the only reason we won in the first place was Matt Murray. He certainly took control and put the team on his back when they needed it. |
