I would agree for the most part. IF he didn't play 30 games in the NHL the season before and look like he most certainly belonged. He could have worked through his struggles at the NHL level. In fact, he could have worked through his struggles at the NHL level in the preseason, but Torts had to be Torts. Probably ruining Zamula in the process because he wanted to show everyone how smart he is.

I am being dramatic of course as I don't think Zamula has been ruined. But he didn't do him any favors either in my opinion. Keeping him up and then scratching him didn't do much for HIS confidence. IMO York already showed enough.

Small sample sizes for young Dmen do not automatically mean his play from 7 months prior will translate to the start of the new season. How’s Phil Myers doing?

Yet you're claiming that his play in a substantially smaller sample of games was enough to show that he needed to be sent to the AHL. How many pre season games was it? 3 or 4? Versus 30 regular season NHL games.

You also know that each player is an individual.

You’re acting as if sending a young player to the AHL is some absurd idea and a bad thing. Worked out just fine, kid found his game and is back with the big club

That's incorrect. I'm stating that in this individual case, sending York the AHL at the start of the season based on a handful of pre season games was a mistake. He should've been in the NHL the entire season. Compounded by keeping Zamula when he was the player who should've been sent down. Based on all of the information available, it's obvious. That it didn't hurt the kid, doesn't mean it wasn't a mistake. It's just Tortorella being Tortorella.

That was lethal! Had Provorov caught between the 2 Tampa guys and Kucherov sends a quick laser in the right spot.

It's really hard for me to hope for a loss, but I certainly can agree with your sentiment.

Logically Frost & Farabee would have better numbers on a offensive talented team with more puck possession.

I hope Torts keeps that bee-frost-tipp line together and let's them build chemistry going forward. Imo, those are 3 big pieces of our future... unless Torts runs frost out of town

The passiveness with which the Flyers play defensively makes me want to puke. That was way too easy.

It is maddening. Thing is they don't have the speed or skill to prevent getting totally out of position while TBL snaps it around to find completely open looks. The Flyers are in a no win situation on the PK against them based on personnel. The only solution is to stay out of the box.

Ok, just for fun.
If we had Tampa's top line and #1D and almost everyone was healthy, how far will this team go in the in the p-offs?

Stamkos Point Kucherov
Farabee Coots TK
Cates Frost Tipp
Laughton Laczyinski Allison

Hedman Sanheim
Provy Risto
York DeAngelo/Seeler

Hart

Hayes on IR (lol)
Atkinson (13th)

That's not about speed or skill in my opinion. There have been plenty of really good PKers that weren't highly skilled or speedy. They're coached that way and it bleeds into their reactions. They stand around and watch and don't pressure or cover. Kucherov is a world class passer but that pass didn't have to go through a single player or stick. Wide open passing lane to the front of the net to an uncovered player.
