With his play this year, I would expect that there would be some interest around the league in Hayes as a player, but gotta think that most GMs are still wary of 3 more years at $7.1M. Sure the Flyers could retain some salary to make it happen, or get a slightly better return. But Chuck will have to decide at what cost point does carrying dead salary for 3 years just become not worth it?
And did I see on here yesterday that Hayes now has a 12 team NTC? That could further complicate things. I would have to wonder if he would be okay with going to Columbus, another rebuilding team. Ultimately, I think Hayes gets moved but it seems it will be tricky. And unless the Flyers decide to retain a significant chunk of salary, I think the return would be underwhelming at best. - Big_E_88
I couldn't begin to explain why Columbus would want Hayes. |

This franchise suffered and had to overpay both in terms of trading and signing defenseman for a long time. Hextall was able to get a first round pick and Radko Gudas who was a solid player for the Flyers for an aging Brayden Coburn. After a black hole of drafted defenseman, Hextall drafted Sanheim and Provorov. He brought in vet players cheaply to give the team minutes such as Schultz and Del Zotto. Apparently Hextall ignored the defense. - MJL
Defend to the end cliff. Saint Ronnnie.
Have you not said yourself on numerous occasion recently that poor Ivan was thrust into the top spot at 18 when he shouldn't have? Didn't you also say his development was hurt by that? So who is to blame as chuck wasn't here t that time.
He bought in vet bottom pair/7 guys. What a visionary. Never addressed the real issue did he cliff?

This season, yes. York should've been with the Flyers the entire season. Last season they preordained that York wasn't going to get a legit shot in camp by signing Yandle who was not at the time an NHL worthy player. - MJL
so seeler was blocking him, understood.

Curious if anyone heard the guerin interview on 32 thoughts podcast? It was interesting to hear him talking about the buyouts of top 2. He went on to say it was just as important to rid of like 5 other older stale players on team.
Are we not in this position? Forget about getting some magical great return for players like provy tk etc. yes obviously try to maximize the return but if this new gm (assuming azz(frank) is fired) doesn’t move out most if not all this middle age and older pack of spoiled meat I think I’m finally actually done with this team. Never ever thought I’d even consider that. Sad.
I think I’m gonna give it to draft. If massive turnover not made (frank) it I’m out. Hockey will officially be like nba. Tune in at playoff time. Maybe even finals only. Even the great players and all in league philly has managed to ruin the sport for me. And this is from guy who watches and attend jr hockey too. It’s just tainted now.
Anyone else feel this way or is it just me? |

It's just the JG/Hayes BC connection.
Otherwise it doesn't really make much sense for a hundred different reasons. Especially if all these man games lost result in them getting Fantilli, Carlsson or Bedard.
And with a 12-team NTC you can bet beautiful, exciting Columbus OH is off the table as far as Hayes is concerned. |

What are the Flyers willing to do or what do they want for Hayes? Are they willing to retain salary and give him away. Or do they want a quality asset in return for retaining salary. Are they willing to take a contract back? I just don't see a quality team willing to make a good offer for Hayes. We'll have to see what happens. One of the biggest issues with Fletcher is that he puts himself constantly in a position of weakness. They make it known they want to trade a player or trade for a player and they get raked over the coals. |

That would be an utter disaster. Better off just letting him play it out. |

Maybe if we don't trade him he'll just retire to escape Torts. |

Perfect. The Flyers are one of those situations where it's going to get worse before it gets better. They haven't hit rock bottom yet. |

We're gonna get a team "rebuilt" to suit Torts.
Not a rebuild that finally ushers the Flyers into the 21st century.
So yeah... they're gonna keep digging deeper. |

More 200 ft, bang bodies, block shots bring your lunch pail to work kind of guys.
4 years later immediately after being appointed lifetime GM, Fletcher's first press conference 'We need more high-end talent.' After signing Nic Deslauriers to an 8-year extension and signing Justin Braun to his 5th consecutive 1-year deal 'We need to get younger.' |

that is a problem if that happens. No way should they buy him out. Maybe the fraud coach can you know make it work instead of taking the easy way don't want to be bothered approach.

Sure it does.
Will Seeler be potentially blocking Attard Zamula or Ginning next season? |

The Bolts are gonna be pissed...look out!! I guess Torts isn't the only coach to use the 3rd period benching strategy to wake up his top players? Or is Cooper just another archaic coach?
What would happen if the flyers had players dad night at the games? They wouldn’t be able to ice a team because Torts would bench all the sons with dad’s in the stands. |

So will we blaming the coach or GM when you all complain when a young Dman comes plays like crap and doesn’t make the team and Seeler is the 6th? |
