He’s had an average tenure so far.

I think he undeservedly gets credit for some improvements that we’re going to organically happen - Tage, Skinner, Dahlin turning it around, and Cozens being great

He should get credit for acquiring Levi (if Levi pans out, it’s far from a sure thing.) he should get credit for great contracts to Cozens/Tage and a couple decent trades

I think it’s absolutely negligent how he’s handled some other things like the goalie position, depth on defense, and how he seems to be bad at negotiating

I also think it’s a joke that he can’t figure out how to weaponize the cap space they have

- sbroads24

Not one to make many excuses for KA, but don't you have to assume Terry tied his hands with the cap?

As far as goalies go, who did he try to get last summer? Murray and Gibson both said no, iirc? Did he try at all to sign Husso? Wonder if Gibson might feel differently now. Watching Gibson this year reminded me of Lu his first go around as a Panther, getting shelled, but standing on his head putting on a goalie show. He would lead right in to Levi time. Who else could they target? I imagine goalie is top of their summer to do list. It has to be, right? They can’t honestly be expecting Levi to jump right in to the nhl. Upl as the number 2 next year, who should/could they go get?

I’m not sure. It’s definitely possible. We know he was too hands on with last regime but people have also said that Adams has “full autonomy”

The logic behind not giving term and $$$ to goalies was correct due to the variance of the position.

There was a deal in place for the Sabres to move up from 16 (Ostlund) to Ottawa at 7 (Marco Kasper) to take Matt Murray off their hands but he wanted Toronto.

He chose the wrong free agent goalie though no doubt. Comrie had good underlyings and they took a swing but obviously he had a flash in the pan year last year.

Husso would have been better but I’m not sure he even moves the needle that much.

Craig Anderson believe it or not has been better then like 80% of the league this year, his only issue is he can only play bi-weekly

Ottawa has been outscored 15-3 in their last 3 games against Chicago, Vancouver, and Calgary.

Pierre Dorion went full “Tim Murray mode” to finish 10th.

Hate to see it.

Hopefully Alex Debrincant doesn’t arb his way to UFA in a few months or Claude Giroux doesn’t lose a step.

Meanwhile they traded a 24 year old Gustavsson to Minnesota for UFA Cam Talbot.

What a shame.

Yeah, especially after both guys they apparently were willing to take on term and $$$ for supposedly said no to playing for the Sabres.
So they took the shot with Comrie.

Who could/should they go for this off-season? (after they get Levi signed)

I hope they lose every game they ever play but they will be projected to be better than us next year and most likely that will be right.

They have 3 legit forward line and 3 star D men. They’re going to be a problem

They may have to trade Debrincant in the offseason unless they want to run the risk of losing him for nothing.

If they put pen to paper the argument is moot, but until that happens…

Good luck getting the 7th overall pick and 38th overall pick and a third rounder in terms of value back too

Anyone’s guess really.

Pipe dream: Saros

Wishful thinking: Demko

UFA route: Varlamov or Andersen if you can convince them. I’d include Jarry but I don’t see why he wouldn’t resign in Pittsburgh

Idk what happens with DeBrincat, I’d wager they sign him but they’re right where we are except they haven’t had their version of Cozens all season and they just got Chychrun.

Sabres will be competing with them for a spot next year

As I famously said on a call to GR, "there are two types of Sabres fans: fans of the team on the ice, and fans of the prospect pool."

Just take a gander at the people who've been in their glory since the season ended. They've arrived at serfdom. They're ecstatic we're a lottery team again, just like old Kevo wants them to be.

The Bruins are idiots. So are the Lightning. What morons pay a goalie to actually start games on their roster rather than be an add for the cap floor? We need to give that money to oft injured rookie defenseman who arent even good when they're in the lineup! What would a Sammy deal look like right now if Adams didn't waste $30 million him? $1.5? We couldn't trade this slug for Chychrun? Just because we have Dahlin carry Samuelsson on the top pair doesn't make him a top pair, and it never will.

The fact we've had to continue to abuse Owen Power, making him play 3 or 4 more minutes per night than he should be, shows that we have one friggen defenseman on the roster. One. Power should be 3rd pair this season and he's clearly our 2nd best defenseman. So much so, he and Dahlin are a pair at the end of games when we're trailing because 23 and 10 are useless.

Who's evaluating these players? These same dippoops who evaluated Linus I guess. Mattias Samuelsson is the slug you string out with 1-year deals, not a starting goalie. At the very least, the coach took a giant poop on Comrie. Hopefully he told Don and Kev to (frank) off and we wont see him ever again. Kevy will get swing 8 or 9 at a goalie. Maybe he won't fùck it up again.

Devon Levi 2025. Mattias Samuelsson forever. The free agents are lining up.

Big game tonight!
Why is it a big game, no not because it is the next game, frigging morons use that simpleton rhetoric.
It is big because with a Sabres win, The Bolts stay close to the leaves in the race for 2nd.
Let's go Sabres!!

The fact that you keep beating the trade drums for both meier and chychrun despite our team clearly not being ready for prime time is mind numbing 😀😀😀

It's like you're doubling down, instead of seeing that one or both of those players wouldnt have pushed us into the playoffs.

Those guys were both playoff deadline deals, by playoff bound teams.

- Boss34

So being in a playoff position just before the trade deadline does not make your team a playoff contender that should have been looking for trades to try to do what they can to make the playoffs this year? A team in that position should just assume it can’t make the playoffs. That is the definition of being a perennial loser. By the way, Ottawa was further out of the playoff picture before the trade deadline than Buffalo and who did they have the foresight to trade for? The more you write the more I am convinced you work for the Sabres.

He has no actual stance. He’s just going to follow whatever the Sabres decide to do and say “yes sir, may I have another?”

If Chyrchun was here he’d love it

If Chychrun is here those injuries when Dahlin and Samuelsson were out might not have hurt as much. And if they were afraid it would change Johnson’s mind about signing, then shame on Adams. Because it's a ridiculous claim especially with every Dman they have being able to play there offside
