After months of this sh*t what do you expect?
- ZiggyBuff

More complaining until the Sabres aren't picking Top 10 anymore, unless that pick comes from a trade.

Wouldn't a better investment be of a longer-term aspect. Nice he might sell some Jersey's and Tickets but doubt it adds up to the 6-8 mill it will cost to sign him.

If you want to sign Kane, I'd like to hear that it's a good hockey move, not 3/4 of a season homecoming.

If moves this summer aren't designed around the playoffs, not sure what they are doing.

That's it, wouldn't getting better and becoming perennial playoff team be better investment than worrying about selling Jerseys and tickets for 3/4 of a season.

Just pay him $12M to get him here.

Whatever it takes.

That way Arizona can launder another contract for a 3rd round pick to make Kane's $12M cap hit able to be consumed by the one team he's willing to go to at next season's trade deadline.

Donโ€™t forget to add whatever you get back in the deadline trade. I donโ€™t know how to put a monetary value on draft picks, but itโ€™s got to be worth something yea? Whatever you think of the Hall trade, Sabres did essentially buy a second round pick.
- SoCalPucks

Rather use the Money on a top 4 D or Goalie.

Jerseys are like $289 at the Sabres store. ๐Ÿ˜€

Seriously, the hype would be incredible, from a business perspective. Talking 10's of millions ,not just 6 or 8.

And: pk88 is a very good hockey player that would instantly make this team a respectable destination for other free agents.

We're not trading assets for Meyers or chickenrun, it's upgrading olofsson and not resigning gurgs. (4.75 + 2.2)
Theres your pk88 $ , you're welcome ๐Ÿ‘Š

Keeps the team on the same young guy trajectory

Well stop making post about adding players that might help, just female dog about not trying to make the team better. All you like is Misery, that's why you complain so much about a team you want to see do better.

Both can be true in my opinion. We can still a mess, and then trade Kane to a contender, or it could work out and he decides to stick around. Iโ€™m pretty sure this is essentially a more comprehensive description of the handshake agreement we had with Hall honestly.

Boss is also right about this. Kane is unique in that he brings in instant revenue to offset the cost of his salary.

Yep, good post.

Pk88 probably brings a similar return next year.
With a similar season, contract retention ect.

Maybe he explodes in donnie's friendly system vs. Chi town this year?

The Chicago Blackhawks have traded Patrick Kane, one of the greatest players in franchise history, Tuesday to the New York Rangers in a three-team deal. In exchange, the Blackhawks received AHL defenceman Andy Welinski, a conditional 2023 second-round pick and a 2025 fourth-round pick.Mar 1, 2023

Guess, rather spend that money in other areas if Kane is just a publicity stunt. Unless they fix that Defense and Goaltending that's basically all it will be.

So adding pk88 would make this team worse?

He's gonna ruin the future too?

But "why not try" to add meier and chychrun ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜€

So whatโ€™s the deal with the zero defense system? Was it just the lack of talent/experience on the ice? Did Donnie think it was the only way they could win? bad coaching? or is it legitimately part of the development plan? (Step 1:learn to score goals, Step 2: work in the defensive stuff)

I think what the worst defensive team in the league needs is definitely a 35 year old has been who refuses to play defense

Definitely the same thing as trying for Chychrun or Meier in their prime

But youโ€™re signing him to trade him for future assets instead of being good is the plan I think?

Not to mention Kane will have a full NTC and the return would be like a 3rd rd pick at best.

Again, this is really hard to understand:

Signing pk88 is not just a media stunt or homecoming.

Pk88 is a 3 time American Stanley cup champion.

An upgrade to the very player you cant stand.

Olofsson.

In your words a 6-8 million $ deal. Which is ridiculously low btw โ˜๏ธ

Where did I say he would make it worse, and never said ruin the future. Said if all you are doing is bringing him in for a Marketing stunt then I would rather do something longer-term. Yeah cause neither one of those players would have helped right now. But that's right are goal wasn't to make the playoffs just keep growing internally and watch injuries crap your season because you didn't go out and do anything other than your 2nd and whatever option Stillman was because you have No depth which could have been helped but you were to busy evaluating Fitzgerald Bryson Pilut for 3 months.

Maybe I need to slow this down for everyone to understand :

Sabres sign pk88 for all the obvious reasons.
Rings, jerseys, owners love affair, tickets, veteran leadership, guy that wants to be here....
Oh, and he's a good hockey player still and an on ice upgrade over Casey or olofsson

He signs here because we pay him more
He has a young family
He has a way out if to the rangers if we flop.

Sabres get a return for their investment

Upgrade to Olofsson, Kane playing on the 3rd line for that money.

I like the idea in theory. I also wanted to trade for Meier or Chychrun, or some equivalent impact player. Either of these opinions could possibly be wrong.

The fact that you keep beating the trade drums for both meier and chychrun despite our team clearly not being ready for prime time is mind numbing ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜€

It's like you're doubling down, instead of seeing that one or both of those players wouldnt have pushed us into the playoffs.

Those guys were both playoff deadline deals, by playoff bound teams.

This is very reasonable.

Just think it was a year or 2 early for a "go for it" playoff run by adding 2 guys who weren't long term affordable players IMO.

Sabres paying another winger long term 9 million for Meier made zero sense.
Trading for him to boost us this year made less sense if possible

Chryrun would be a great plug if we didnt already have 2 #1's OA to lead this team.
Again, this year , chryrun doesnt change 7-1 or 10- 4

All this bithxing and they ignore the fact that we had no goaltending.
