The Owen Power draft nobody even knew who the top pick would be never mind that the draft was deep.

The Cozens draft was a good one but not on par with this year.

I’ve read several publications since 2014 saying that certain drafts were average.

Last years draft had huge buzz before a lot of guys had underwhelming seasons. Slafkovsky wouldn’t even go top 5 in this years draft lol

Power was the unanimous #1 pick among scouts. He was always the pick.

Yes and even after the TDL we would have had most of them. No I can see we are more than a player or 2 away, doesn't mean those players acquired doesn't help.

Yes,

Hypothetically, jost upgraded asplund and greenway upgraded either girgensons/okposo moving forward.

My point though, we have 10-13 positions that need upgrading. Those 2 guys wouldn't get us close enough IMO. They may not even bring us close enough next season realistically. And I'm an optimist.

Sabres have enough forward prospects coming through the system where they can basically build there offense from within. If they choose to, doesn't mean they couldn't use another top 6. There Defense is a bit of a problem, as they do not have the prospects to build there D core. It's a big problem and it should be a very high priority this offseason. The Sabres will not move forward as a Team unless they fix there Defense.
