They only had 6 healthy D last night, right?

Just guessing this is about depth/health, not a real lineup change.

Doesn't need to be. Gives them another option because those two stink.

That would mean two defensemen were injured last night on top of Stillman and Samuelsson being unable to play.
- TheSabresTaco

Joker took a hard hit and looked sore getting up. Was slow to the bench but finished the game so who knows.

2 minutes left down a goal and Jacob Bryson is on the fvckin ice trying to break the puck out... for like a minute straight.

Sometimes I can't believe what I'm seeing from the coaching staff.. completely bonkers stuff.

Also of note, any team interested in submitting an offer sheet for Lamar Jackson must have a 2023 & 2024 first round pick available.

This eliminates the Rams, Dolphins, 49ers, Broncos & Browns currently

Is that their own picks or can they acquire one to use?

Jost is in, didn't comment on the other two but I think he said they were possible for tomorrow (yesterday)

I'd be kinda disappointed if at least one of them is not playing. They need this one bad.

- TheSabresTaco

If they lose tonight it’s pretty much lights out.

They’d be at a 12% chance of playoffs with a regulation loss

And could shoot right back up with an Islanders loss and a Sabres win a couple days later.

% of winning is stoopid. Just look at every time the NFL would put it on screen for a team down 36-0 in the 3rd quarter only to come back and win.

Or anytime they'd put it for a team beating Tom Brady... Their calculator didn't factor in the greatest QB of all-time

If they thought Pilut was the answer, we would have seen it long before now.

Think this is just about injuries.

Maybe it is, maybe Donnie has realized Bryson's vibes doesn't equal out his negative on ice impact.

Praying for the latter

I can't find any information on that, nothing I have read so far is as specific like the NHL is

and the timing is between games of a back to back, when dealing with injuries that explain a recall? lot of coincidences there

Yeah but climbing is hard. You’d be taking 2 of the remaining games left and not making any ground.

Tonight is the definition of a must win

We should be exiting the world of only worrying about asset management and contracts and entering the world of only worrying about winning.

Teams that win lose guys to UFA every year

It won’t be the difference in winning a championship if Mitts walks for nothing someday down the line.

What will be the difference in winning will be if the GM is only worried about constantly shuffling guys in and out of the lineup because his draft picks are always the next best thing

- sbroads24

That's a bridge too far, way too far.
If Mitts is at a 50+ppg pace then and there is a young player good enough to take his spot, you must trade him at the TDL to gain an asset that can then be used at the next TDL to bolster the roster. That is extremely valuable.

This place would be great if everyone behaved like Hubie.

I'm hoping mitts is the next , he's terrible guy, to become a star in buffalo.

Some humans just develop differently. Everyone remembers the non chin up, the playing extra year of high school hockey and the baby weight.

His effort is very noticeable... vibes guy too....

- Boss34

I think Granato has gotten through to him, but there's only so much you can really do within the season. He's skating harder, making plays, and working but still has times he tries to make the perfect play and doesn't shoot. I am hoping this offseason is the time that he puts on some weight and puts in the work and comes out next season as an improved player.

He also commented that he had an injury one of the years and it really threw off his development. With Thompson and Cozens 1-2 for the next 7 years it would be nice to have Mitts fill that 3C spot, but even if he's an effective wing that is fine too.

He's an RFA after this year so there's no need to make that decision until the end of the next contract. Unless there's a replacement that we think will be better I assume they keep him at the end of this deal.

We don’t know that’s the case yet. And won’t know it next year unless they’re signing UFA forwards or making trades for forwards

No one can definitely say Kulich can step in and replace Mitts starting next season

Maybe both sides really do not know Lamar's real value?

This avoids the back and forth and allows for another team to act as a mediator. Without hard feelings.

He's not working with an agent or wasnt at one point. Probably a different type of negotiation.

Let someone else set the price and match it.

Or get a couple 1st round picks....

Win/ win

Maybe, but if it comes down and they only get 2 1sts, it's kinda a loss for Baltimore IMO

Maybe last night was Bryson's last straw game?

The camel is broken.

Pilut is going to bring in a new Camel back.

Unless I missed an injury last night 🤔

lamar wants 500 mil guaranteed

if ravens owner does that he/she has to put all that money into an escrow account the second it happens

not many owners willing to fork over 1/2 a billion dollars like that

For sure, and you pay for management's mistakes.

Other teams don't let this happen to franchise qbs.

They either know something other teams don't about lamar, or they played their hand completely wrong.

Lamar's a star. Irreplaceable....

I have a 0% chance of lamar going anywhere else. IMO.
