I was in the minority when I said I didn't want Greenway here.

But give the kid a (frank)ing chance. 20 games with this team should give you an idea of what he can actually provide.

For all the new Casey lovers, how long did he take. 30 games?

They gave a lot of coverage.

Their defining moment was

"A team full of Jagr's would crush this Sabres team!!!" During the 07 playoffs. (frank) those guys, they sucked.

You know what Jack Eichel is? A much better version of Victor Olofsson who plays center. Convince me I'm wrong.

Edit: Jack's not tough, but he's not soft. I'm wrong, but he's just as clueless in his own end.

- lacaprup

Noooooo

Jack is much more consistent, is an excellent passer, has world class speed.

Olofsson doesnt pout, take over the game or show any emotion like jack (good or bad).

Teammates don't like jack
Big vibes vic

Olofsson is still getting looks, 10 shots in the last 4 games.

Management needs to play olofsson, whether they need him to score or need him to improve his offseason trade value.

His contract and semi veteran status on the team ,keeps him in the lineup as well.

- Boss34

I hate to say it but you're probably right here. If you want to trade him, you need to put him in favorable position for the rest of the year.

Low minutes ES, minimal competition, powerplay time.

I also hate it.

With that, I’m happy with current Mitts. Fine with another year. Also fine if he is part of a larger deal…

And that leads to the $64,000 question: is this the rule or the exception? Has he turned the corner and become a good player, or is he really a "meh" player that's having a good stretch of games? The cynic in me says it's the latter.
- buffalofan19

it's a fair question. I'll be paying close attention for the rest of the year.

He's never been this strong of a player in his entire NHL career. Even when he was scoring points post Ralph.

Someone take over your account this morning?

You don't like Tom Wilson or any facepunchers....

You should get a Tom Wilson Jersey and TM this team while wearing it.

No way the caps move on from wilson, every team wants a guy like that IMO.

On dealine day live chat I offered VO and Savoie for Wilson and was told they'd hangup the line. Have to agree.

Ovechkin would leave that franchise if Wilson were traded. He'd score goal 900 with Lightning.

Don't get me wrong, I'm no where near saying he's untouchable. This version of Casey is a fantastic value player and exactly the type of guy a team would want on a scoring third line.

He would be difficult to replicate before our prospects are ready. And he's a known quantity versus an estimate.

Look, you tell me you can pick up Weegar or Theodore or whatever (not 1 for 1), yeah, take the (frank)ing shot. Just don't trade him for scraps. I think you get worse doing so.

You want young guys to be able to grow.

Greenway
Wilson
Stillman
Tuch to a lesser extent.

Pain in the Richards to play against.

So let me get this straight we are going to spend all that to get wilson put him on the second line and think he wont go ufa after the year?

That's not an easily definable answer. The quick answer is both.

Take a look at this table for the past 25 games. You'll notice that some guys are better with him, some without him, and some need him to be better.

https://www.naturalstattr...te=n&v=t&playerid=8479999

The reason he's a third liner is exactly why this reads the way it does. Coaching and linemates is a massive reason behind his success. Don has continually placed players in positions to succeed. Casey is simply another example.

There are other 'WTG' intangibles Casey is showing that were less prevalent in his game. His assertiveness and confidence has risen, he's using his shot more and he's battling in the corners. He's comfortable with his linemates and executes some great passes to allow scoring chances.

Casey and Jost are lifting each other.

I'd either go Olofsson or Okposo. Obviously Okposo would never be scratched though

The league should know by now what he is. Either a team needs a PP sniper or they don't

No low ball offers I know what I have

This bad boy can fit so many pp goals in it

I learned a long time ago to never trust draft assessments years in advance.
