78.5, states a goal should be disallowed "when the puck has been directed, batted or thrown into the net by an attacking player other than with a stick. When this occurs, if it is deemed to be done deliberately, then the decision shall be NO GOAL.
If he does not stick out his leg the puck does not hit his shin pad directing the puck into the net. By merely sticking out your leg it is a kicking motion, Hell just walking can be considered a kicking motion. - hehateme
But, he didn’t actually kick it in. It deflected in off of his leg after he stuck it out. Leg was there, puck hit it and deflected in. He didn’t “kick” it into the net.

Where did I say anything about the refs?
I complained last night about it.
You need to log off - Stripes77
Couple tough calls lately:
Okposo head shot
The upl save/ trip
McDavid fell and tage was called
Tage getting clipped in the face back to back games
Ice official calls it one way, gets reversed
Sucks to lose whether it was the right call or not......
Insult to injury , questionable calls..... |

Marchand did the same thing mid-play like a week or 2 ago and no one talked about it.
Bush league with the inconsistencies. - DirtyDan
It is stuff like that that make me wonder of the complaints of rigging don’t have some basis. Especially when it seems that the calls go against the small-market teams more often than not. I am not just talking about Buffalo. |

Turning leg and moving/sticking it forward, whether hitting his leg or foot is a kicking motion.

All these leagues are rigged. The injuries obviously not, but making calls based off scores, or not making them is clear indication of rigging for entertainment.
Whether they intentionally fvck small markets or not the rigging does exist.
Not saying they decide who wins or loses but they influence the game. Clear as day. |

Well gonna say this and nothing else!!
I am a Vet and my Mother has Cancer. To think there is a problem having either night at a sporting Event is utterly Ridiculous. Just to spread Awareness or Appreciation is never forgotten. - Buff36
Very good post 36.
This is the dumbest arguement on here.

Do any of us believe they're going to go 14-5 the rest of the way to get to 96 points? No.
10-9 or 11-8 feels more likely, and I don't think 88 to 90 points will get the job done. - kingcong39
6-8 -11 GD since February.

Uhhh, the Penguins are 5-5 in their last 10.
That same pace the remainder of their games gets them to 93 points, and that's giving them a 10-9 record the rest of the way. - kingcong39
The Penguins are at a 95 point pace I believe. They don’t have to “magically play well” to get to 96.
I know hockey Twitter told you they made their team worse at the deadline so that means we 100% believe they will start losing so we will see |

The worst is that its trickled down to minor leagues.
Watching our hometown JR.B team the other night and refs are making calls (or not making them) based off the score.
Just call the game based off the fvcking rules. If one teams deserves 100 penalties that's on them.

That's using the most recent results.
They've been up and down all season, as have all the other teams in the race.
Penguins their last 6? 5-1.
Penguins the prior 6? 1-5. |

I have multiple Vietnam veterans (past and present) in my family. I stand for both anthems...
I almost punched a beer down some guys face at the Oilers game for not standing and applauding the military member of the game.
Fat slob didnt have a problem getting up and down to get beers all game.

Baseball I believe always played the anthem. But do your research on the NFL. Maybe what I have read is bull but I did not write it. From what I have read they were paid to play the anthem.
Either way, the anthem should be played before every game and no one should think about kneeling. As bad as my voice is I sing the anthem every time with my hand over my heart. And if the NFL has been paid to play the anthems they should refund all the monies they have received one hundred fold to organizations that help veterans disabled in war who fought for these leagues to exist in a society where they can make the billions they do for playing games. IMO - sabrebuzz
The national anthem has been a staple of the professional sports industry and was first played before NFL games starting back in the 1941-1942 NFL season. Since the 1941-42 season, the National Football League has made it a tradition to play the national anthem before every game. |

Seriously the ONLY way the puck makes contact with his leg is because he stuck out his leg therefore it being a kicking motion. There is not other way his leg can get there if he did not kick it out.

And as much as you or I may not like this... it is still his right not to applaud or stand.
And that is what we fight/fought for.

Boss, that fat slob has every right to not stand up that is the very rights that our military members fight for. You cant get mad at that.
if you choose to show your appreciation then good on you. I will always stand at attention and put my hand over my heart during that song. However I will not get upset with others that don't have my morals or views, that is what makes this country great. |

I would imagine 90% of the players if not more participate in Movemeber. - DirtyDan
I’ve never even heard of Movember. That is cool stuff. Thank you for that info. I hope that the players support that movement nearly as much as you suggest. But that still is the players. My problem is with the owners and leagues. Maybe I missed it and they do support this but I’ve never heard of anything about this from a team-wide or league-wide perspective. I am going to look into this further And I think he once again for enlightening me. |

Yeah, but the puck hit his leg after he stuck it out and puck deflected into net.
He wasn’t kicking when puck went off his leg. Leg was there and puck deflected off of it. Split second difference between it being ruled a kicking motion or not? Sticking leg out isn’t necessarily “kicking”? The deciding factor was it didn’t go in off his foot/skate? Idk it’s definitely an iffy call. Has the League put out any statement explaining their ruling?
