No one actually believes stuff like that though. They’re just excuses.
But remember, even hardcore Adams guys are saying “no excuses” for this summer.
I truly believe they are building a good team and my main disagreement is the timeline and whether they should be aggressive or not.
I don’t want Adams fired or anything and I am not rooting for him to fail.
I am just done with losing or moral victories |

Its actaully impressive how good of a group 05/06-06/07 team was:
Chris Drury - GM NY rangers
Danny Brierie - GM Flyers
Mike Grier - GM Sharks
Could you see any Sabre in the last 10 years rising up to any big position in the NHL?

Big game tonight!
Why is it a big game, no not because it is the next game, frigging morons use that simpleton rhetoric.
It is big because with a Sabres win, The Bolts stay close to the leaves in the race for 2nd.
Let's go Sabres!! - IonSabres

As I famously said on a call to GR, "there are two types of Sabres fans: fans of the team on the ice, and fans of the prospect pool."
Just take a gander at the people who've been in their glory since the season ended. They've arrived at serfdom. They're ecstatic we're a lottery team again, just like old Kevo wants them to be.
The Bruins are idiots. So are the Lightning. What morons pay a goalie to actually start games on their roster rather than be an add for the cap floor? We need to give that money to oft injured rookie defenseman who arent even good when they're in the lineup! What would a Sammy deal look like right now if Adams didn't waste $30 million him? $1.5? We couldn't trade this slug for Chychrun? Just because we have Dahlin carry Samuelsson on the top pair doesn't make him a top pair, and it never will.
The fact we've had to continue to abuse Owen Power, making him play 3 or 4 more minutes per night than he should be, shows that we have one friggen defenseman on the roster. One. Power should be 3rd pair this season and he's clearly our 2nd best defenseman. So much so, he and Dahlin are a pair at the end of games when we're trailing because 23 and 10 are useless.
Who's evaluating these players? These same dippoops who evaluated Linus I guess. Mattias Samuelsson is the slug you string out with 1-year deals, not a starting goalie. At the very least, the coach took a giant poop on Comrie. Hopefully he told Don and Kev to (frank) off and we wont see him ever again. Kevy will get swing 8 or 9 at a goalie. Maybe he won't fùck it up again.
Devon Levi 2025. Mattias Samuelsson forever. The free agents are lining up. - lacaprup
I’m very optimistic about the Sabres prospect pool.
I’ll also be in Section 104 tonight.
Life is all about balance.
They are overachieving this year compared to the consensus mainstream opinion and have a very good prospect pool.
It’s ok to be happy with the season they have had and see the progress. We traded Eichel and Reinhart and are already knocking on the door.

when you have 30 prospects and 30 draft picks
it's not much to ask for the trades to improve the roster with massive upgrades
instead we are reworking a 10 year plan |

the sabres have made the playoffs in 29 of their 52 seasons
the sabres have missed the playoffs for 12 straight years
so before the white knight bought the team they made the playoffs in 29 of 40 seasons counting said knight's first year
what use to be 75 percent chance of seeing the sabres in the post season has turned into mission impossible

As far as the Chycrun trade went... Adams said he thinks that he made as good as, if not a better offer than Ottawa made for him. Maybe AZ saw the offers as very equal, and Chyc is in Ottawa instead of Buffalo because AZ asked which he’d prefer? I see Chycrun’s grandpa is in Ottawa. The family ties outweigh the former neighbor down the street in Boca ties. |

Are you going to cheer the Sabres or the Leafs getting the Sabres closer to a lottery ball?

We do know Kevin agrees with this. He was, in fact, trying to actively make a trade for an impact player. The issue is he wasn’t able to pull it off. This is at least the second time that has happened.

He also hasn't had the balls to pay a goalie enough money to come here. There's not one of them who can't be bought. If Terry will pay Samuelsson $30 million he would have paid any number of veteran goalies $15 total for this season and next. Hell, he's paying Bishop.

The salient point being that those defending Adams are not actually defending the conservative prospect pool approach. No guys, Kevyn agrees with us, he was trying to make a trade. What they’re actually defending is his inability to negotiate a trade that makes this team better. Seems weird. |

Let’s take a trip down memory lane to November 15th.
I cheered for losses for Dahlin, Power, Cozens no doubt. Funny how I got called a “terrible fan” and now that Im optimistic im a “serfdom”
From the very beginning of the offseason I said the only way we would be in the Bedard sweeps is if we moved up 10 spots in the lotto.
This was some of Pegullavile’s best work prior to the username retirement for the sake of the playoff drought (I’m not superstitious, but I am a little Stitious).
I think my favourite part was your post saying Quinn and Peterka hurt the team more then being on it, despite being 2/3rds of a top 6 quality forward line year one.
Also the Cozens doesn’t hold a candle to Spencer Knight ?
Yikes my guy

Exactly you're ecstatic to be losing. You're excited to miss the playoffs for the 12th season in a row. If that's not the definition of a serf in the arena of sports fandom, then the term has no meaning. You're an economics guy, you get the point. Hell, you probably read the book. |

year 1, get hall and think they were cup contenders (see meeting with adams and terry in the office)
year 2 blow it up, decent returns and expect a bad year
year 3 shows massive improvements in 5 guys yet nothing changes in the standings
roster is bad for bottom half and needs a few big improvements
another blah season and he should be on the chopping block and I am not sure we have the coach to turn the corner |

Funny thing is, it was the little trades he missed that might have helped just as much. Hell I would have taken Nino for a 2024 2nd, Zaitsev and a 2nd. |

The #Bills have agreed to terms with P Sam Martin on a three-year deal worth up to $7.5 million, source says.
Martin gets $4.115 million in guarantees to stay in Buffalo, where he registered the second-most yards per punt in his 10-year career after joining the team in August. |

#Bills RB Nyhiem Hines is in the process of reworking his deal to stay in Buffalo, sources say. He’ll convert part of his base salary to signing bonus to provide some cap relief. Incentives added give him the chance to earn more than his previously scheduled $4.79 million in ’23. |
