You are going to have to overpay 4 to 5 players to get to the cap floor. That’s if you can find enough UFA’s that will want to come/nobody else wants.Domi is one. Who else?

Lucic
Okposo
Jack Johnson

Just looking through the UFA list:
Kerfoot
Killorn
Domi
Tatar
Dumoulin

No idea if these guys fit the plan, want to come to Chicago, or are even good anymore.

You still post there was a deal on the table for Strome and Kubalik. I ask again what was it?

Agree I could see him trying trade for a young player thar maybe blocked similar to Patrick sharp situation.
- Scott1977

Stan was about 0-10 trying that. Hopefully KD does better.

Sorry bud, that’s not how this thing works. You don’t get to posit that there was a deal out there that wasn’t taken when there is zero evidence available, and then say that anyone who says otherwise is making a faith based claim. It is pure fallacy to do so and nowhere near logically sound.

When did logic become important here?

You have to add in Kyle Beach's $10M.

Korpi can get hot. Remember when CLB upset TB a few yrs ago he was lights out. Hate to see teams sunk by poor goaltending and at least Korpi gives them a goalie who won't lose games. Fair to expect he'll do better in LA than CLB.

Hopefully the West gives the fan a few good playoff series. Wouldn't shock me to see DAL come out of the West.

I'm pretty sure it was Bobrovsky who stole that series, which led to his ridiculous contract in Florida. BTW, Seth Jones was a monster in that series. If he performed just half as well this season as he did in that series, he would be a candidate for captain next year.

I’m a big fan of having no captain when a team is terrible. Toews is still up in the air. Jones isn’t captain material to me. Neither Johnson nor Murphy are long term solutions here, and both have the A. If Murphy ever got the C I would consider giving up my fandom.

Not sure of the yr CLB bumped TB but in 2019/2020 Korpisalo played in 9 playoff games going 3-5-0 1.90 GA and a .941 SPG. https://www.eliteprospect...er/44198/joonas-korpisalo

In a yr he's amassed a bunch of draft picks, tons of cap space and added to the prospect pipeline with it now ranking around #5.

All needed for a proper rebuild and provides a lot of flexibility. .. A few steps taken in a journey of 1,000 miles but one has to like the plan, approach and execution so far.

Who cares if Bhawks amassed lot of draft picks...They will screw it up.. Jokiharu Boquist, Dach, Reichel....All gone... And how they could have piced Reichel when they had a chance with Dawson Mercer.....They will screw it up again.

Because the one's making and advising on those pick's has been gone now since before last draft?

ON the Kane trade ! the hawks should have not settled for anything less than a young prospect, one of either Lafreniere or Kakko, and than a second round pick. Of all the movies they made, there is no one , they, picked up who will be on this roster next year full time .
- Ging72

Oh come on. Let's be realistic here.

The Rangers were not going to deal a roster player that helped get them in the position they were in. KD would have ended up with a pouty number 88 on the bench if he didn't take what was offered since there were no other teams involved to drive up the price.

The Hawks were also dealing a 34 year old Patrick Kane, not a 24 year old Patrick Kane.

Yes, the version he played with in that series.

In fairness to SJ, he was very good in that series, i remember thinking at the time that Poille was crazy for making that trade.

Mully and Haugh ripping on Davidson this morning and the Hawks for putting out that trade deadline video saying how emotional it was, and later Emily Kaplan reporting that Davidson told Kane he wasn't going to offer him an extension, so that's why Kane decided finally agreed to be traded.

Haugh still thinks Eloy is a great baseball player. 2 things to remember - Sports reporters should never trust anything they hear from GM's (how many times have we heard X is safe, only to find out X has been fired/traded), and fans should always be weary of what sports reports report (they let their opinion cloud the true story).

Ya, first thing that crossed my mind was Brisson leaked that as there was some back lash against Kane for waiting so long and kind of hosing the Hawks.

We probably will never know for sure (like everything else), but there's a part of me that believes the higher ups wanted to turn the page as quickly as possible on the past, and that included Kane and Toews being gone, as they are really the last pieces.

It’s pretty boring. Very little discussions of actual substance. The Behind the B series for Boston was better, when that idiot Chiarelli was discussing trading Seguin because he didn’t fit the culture. I still like to watch it just to peak behind the curtain any amount, felt bad watching Kane have his last moments as a Blackhawk filmed by some marketing crew with no friends or teammates saying goodbye.

Wish this board would move on from the Kane trade, it’s not getting redone and we’d be whining more if Davidson got nothing for him. The lottery isn’t til late April or May and god does that seem far away.

Post of the day!

Did they trade Reichel yesterday? Maybe give him a season or two with the Big Club before throwing him in the bust bin.

Also, not sure if you're aware but they've had a different GM of almost 2 years now.
