Hated to see Kane go, but he's still got some game left and why waste it on a rebuilding project. I'm just hoping he cements himself as the greatest American born player in NHL history. And no matter if the rumors about the Hawks trying to push him out the door are true, he'll still retire as a Blackhawk.

Now let's hope they can turn all these picks into a formidable hockey team again in the next few years! Then let's see how this group deals with contracts, money, term, and NTCs. Let's hope something was learned from the last group....

I do like Richardson behind the bench. I'm hoping he'll stick around through the rebuild. They're not terrible, but look at what the have to work with. Let's go Hawks!

Yep, so much we have yet to learn about KD and Crew.

Not really sure any of us can confidently "grade" the deadline moves. On Kane?- We can assume he kinda thought he was the prized fish for NYR and after the Tarensenko signing......Anything we got, And i do mean ANYTHING, was a prize. Keeping Kane was pointless. He only wanted to go to NYR(probably) There was no bidding war, No playing hardball. So Water over the dam!
The rest of the haul was maybe a little less than hoped for...But again, We have no idea what was being offered from other teams. All-in-all the deadline was a success in the fact that we received picks and became a much worse team to help the "tank".

Domi with no points in his first game with the Stars. KD clearly won that trade.

Thank you Kane for the 3 cups and great memories...But I was calling you Mr. Softy for the past 3 years for a reason.....Finally glad to see him gone to start the real rebuilding process...Not possible with Kane in the line-up....Now Luke can really coach these new players..Kane looked horrible in Ranges the last two games.....He doesn't have the playoff gritty game and I think the Rangers will be worse with Kanel....

I wonder what LR could have done with the roster Coliton inherited 4 years ago.

Something in this feels like it has some potential ... Gallant has a certain reputation as a coach. This could get interesting. -load up on some popcorn. Mind you I got nothing against the Rangers... I wonder how much of Toews' long coid was taking himself out of what was going to happen in or around the deadline. Afterall they did talk about ... will be out til sometime in March at a minimum (conveniently after the TDL)? If so - good move on his part - don't be part of the media scrum that was going to come (which was what he should have done earlier in the season).

Who needs hockey on the ice -we gots soap opera hockey ... it is pretty cool though, to have ditched the bandwagoner crew from a few years ago ... :] silver lining.

He was wearing Lafferty's number, which was disappointing because I thought for sure it was headed for the rafters.

Interesting. Hoping three straight trips to the SCF's has taken it's toll and ends in a first round exitđŸ€žđŸ»

Bad asset management by the Flyers. Even when they were willing to basically give JVR away there was no deal to be had. I was told you can always get something for a player, and if you don’t at the TDL it is bad asset mgmt.

Wonder what KD was offered for AA that he turned down.

KD said he wasn’t actively shopping AA and didn’t receive any serious offers. Even if KD could have traded AA the return would have been minimal, something around a 5th round pick (similar to the return for Namestnikov). The Hawks might as well keep AA for a return like that.

TBH, I doubt any GM would give up a 5th rd pick for that sieve, maybe AA and a 5th for future considerations is more like it.

And even with a $48 million dollar roster, they play hockey i can stomach to watch, saw some of the Blue Jackets, Sharks last night, so many forwards coasting back on defense.
