Puck luck plays into it, but at the end of the day the amount of times I’ve read on this site that the Sabres lost several games this year due to not being physical enough is not accurate.

Beyond next season, the combination of Olofsson and Mittelstadt could be between a $9M to $10M total cap hit.

Is anybody comfortable paying 2/3 of the third line that much, and especially with term as well?

Imagine you know my opinion, They already drafted their replacements and a short stretch of hockey isn't going to change my opinion on them. I have no comfort level with either on a long term deal.

Some of the pressure might come off because Quinn is secretly Mark Stone lite. It's actually kinda wild how polished he is in the NZ/DZ.

I agree the playoffs are tougher, but the penalty thing is a total myth. Refs call noticeably more penalties in the post-season now than the regular season.
