Oh wow, that was the Eichel pick they used:

Eichel, 5th

For

Krebs
Tuch
Ostlund
Greenway

You take that deal every day of the week

- Hank Balling

The Greenway deal also shuts up the do something KA arseholes like me

Would you rather have one more year of Sam Reinhart or Jiri Kulich and Devon Levi for the next several years ?

How’s that win now trade working out for Florida ?

They are already talking about moving Reinhart, maybe Buffalo brings him back for a second in the offseason.

The irony

- Swedish_Jesus

Yea let’s not talk about all the other weird poop Florida did

Florida had a lot of moving pieces.

Sam Reinhart didn’t sink them as you insinuate here.

Why can’t people understand that the ones asking for a trade? We’re specifically asking for a this year and beyond type move?

Yes. I like the Greenway deal. We’ve been in desperate need of some size, grit on bottom 6. The hammer that will answer the dirty hits on Dahlin for at least a couple years
- lulags

I think Donny will get some more offense out of him too. Long-term, I see him with Krebs as 2/3rds of a really good 3rd line that can pot 35ish points each

Yes, and Send a message. If we can get Krebs to Barnaby annoying status, and get 30-40
Points out of him, win/win

And last year he said this year was the year. The goalposts will move again, have no fear.
- Wetbandit1

I never said such thing.

This is the first year I’ve taken my tank for high picks hat off and said the team wasn’t finishing bottom 10 this year while everyone was jumping off a cliff this year that the only thing we did was bring in Ben Bishop.

Ok, seriously, the last time the Leafs won anything was in black and white and six teams was the entire league. It's ancient history. If you're a teenager or early 20's your parents weren't even born the last time they won anything.

Top franchise.

- Wetbandit1

Mid 20's my parents were alive.

They haven't won since and they're still a top 3 Franchise. You kid yourself if you think otherwise.

Reinhart. WTF have Kulich or Levi done? And who says it's only one more year? Maybe if they didn't jerk him around he would've signed, but we'll never know because the GM won't take a chance.

Reinahrt was also a trade for last year and beyond. They extended him for Frank sakes.

What’s the difference between trading for Reinhart last year or Meier this year ?

Timo is a $10M qualifying offer away from UFA is he not ?

New Jersey is much closer to a cup than we are and decided the risk outweighed the reward.

Who’s to say Timo would have resigned here if we traded for him ?

Then all of a sudden you move a potential top 15 pick in a loaded draft for someone who is walking into free agency.

Tage

Skinner

Bottom 6

Peterka
Jost

Please, enlighten me. How are they possibly a top 3 franchise? They've won (frank)-all since there were six teams. Maybe they're top in pulling the wool over more rubes' eyes than anyone?

It's been 19 years since they've even been out of the first round. For Christ's sake Pat Quinn was their coach and he died 9 years ago.

And before anyone says “We’ll Ottawa did it” no crap.

Pierre Dorrion is a dead man walking, heck it’s a miracle he hasn’t been fired already.

If he doesn’t make the playoffs this year he could be donezo. What does he care if the trades he made today blow up in his face ?

Ottawa could very well survive if Debrincant and Chychrun screw off within the next two years, but they would be worse off then if they had just drafted Savoie/Kasper/Korchinski to begin with.

Adams is risk averse today, doesn’t mean he will be when this team is ready to be more than a first round doormat

I'd love to be Boston's doormat in the first round.

I love how these people accused us of constantly being negative and their retorts to this stuff are wildly negative. “The player wouldn’t wanna sign here” and “the team is terrible. They shouldn’t even be in the playoffs they would get rolled by Boston.”

.It’s really laughable to watch them talk themselves in circles.

Also, hasn’t every team in the NHL been Boston’s doormat this year?

also remember when Columbus was going to be Tampa’s doormat and then poof.
