Gotta agree with you. I’ve gotta lot of hope invested in Hronek. My worry is fans will harp on that trade & ignore more D remaking is needed. I can see a key defensive D man traded for or UFA signed.

Nate Schmidt was a decent Dman before he came here and that is what has me a little uneasy. New coaches, new system, all you can do is see how it turns out. It is a done deal so see how it plays out.

We did learn this team at this point in time is not interested in drafting and waiting. With their past record of drafting that might be best.

On Boeser…

Him being a quiet type personality I think he’s relieved to stay here. He’s looking a bit better out there of late. I think he’ll pick it up more & up his value. If he goes into the offseason with a team given to do list & improves his stride & edges it will be the best move in his career. I’m still thinking last year & injuries have taken longer than many would like for him to come back from. Forget the Beauty League & be an offseason workaholic is mandatory.

If you go see Lefty's athletic blog, I posted Pronman's top euro and NCAA free agents. List is less than spectacular this season, not really any big fish like Kuzmenko.

I fully expect McDonough to sign & get in his audition. Guarded on him doing well but something about him tells me he will surprise a bit. Mature & an NCAA BeanoPot winner who can score. Skating has gotten better but still has up it a level or 2. Could be groomed as a 3C maybe.

I don't like the salary for Boeser but his point production is fine. I wanted him off the team for his cost alone, but if there is no return in a trade then wait.
