You guys are such drama queens. They have six picks in the first four rounds, including a top ten overall.

They traded a pending UFA who they haven’t been able to win anything with, which isn’t solely his fault, for a top four young right shot dman.

Y’all female dog they need to re-make the defense, and then complain when they do. Given that they’re not rebuilding and want to be competitive with a good young core it’s fine. They have a mandate from Francesco. Adding the second rounder was dumb, but whatever, like mini always says, the chances of that kid they pick becoming a 200 game player is slim.

Agree. The owner and players don’t want anything to do with a rebuild, regardless what fans and media want. Time for some to accept reality or move on and support another team.

If the team comes back next season and finishes with 98 points, everyone complaining last night would be jizzing their pants while rushing out to buy their car flags. Ridiculous.

I think anyone with any semblance of intelligence would take Moritz Seider over Quinn Hughes.
- LeftCoaster

I don’t know about sieder but Hughes has played with multiple borderline nhl defenceman, similar to horvat playing with the crap left over this has to stop or he walks and the next guy will do the same.

Patrik Allvin had 139 penalty minutes in 28 games back when he was playing in Sweden's Division 1 league in 1997-98.

No player in that league had more penalty minutes per game that season.

There's a random stat for you today.

lol well done.

- LordHumungous

Hey I’ll admit I’m one of the miserable ones but last night was just unbearable. All we can do is wait to see what happens next season. Who knows, maybe next season we catch lightning in a bottle.

At this point, a playoff round or two would be a nice change for this fan.

It’s weird how so many of the most aggressive players eventually become executives on teams or within NHL brass.

The smart players already made their money and are enjoying golfing, while the meatheads are still grinding it out.

They should put him on waivers. Force him to quit. Kidnap his dog. Whatever the (frank) it takes

Was it you who said “even his dog doesn’t like him”? that was funny.

And yet 48 hours ago you were saying how you've had enough of this team?
You're all over the map, you just keep on regurgitating the same old hyperbole like you really know something about what's going on with this club.

Remember when the NHL hired Pronger to be a member of its Player Safety Division?

I believe they know they made those mistakes and are trying to rectify it.
- Bettmanhatesus

In their defence, no one knew Boeser would stop caring about hockey. I mean I knew he was terrible but I thought maybe they could rebuild some value. If you don’t care it ain’t happening

One thing I did like about yesterday's trade was the fans finally have some direction. A few of us were talking last week about mixed messages from the club and yesterday was very clear, they are not rebuilding. At least now the fans have a better sense in what they are headed.

I want one too, but it ain’t happening. So you be realistic about it. Years upon years of mismanagement has them at zero Cups. I’d just love for them to be more competitive, all this losing over the past decade is killing the fan base.

One Benning move killed any momentum he had, in retrospect, trading what would end up being the 9th overall pick for OEL. That’s really hurting the organization right now.

Dumb and dumber compounded the issue by hastily signing Miller and giving Boeser a stupid contract.

The mismanagement just keeps on keepin on.

It’s not weird really. Alphas. It’s why Bo will run a Carwash when he retires and Brock will work at Pizza Pizza

I had enough for this team five years ago, but when you grow up with it, you keep watching, just because. I’ll always keep my eye on them to see what they’re doing, but until winning a cup is their ultimate goal, not just making the playoffs, I’m just a casual fan.

All that being said, there’s a lot of drama queens out there in the fan base and in the media who just won’t accept that they won’t rebuild. The owner and the players want nothing to do with that, so I don’t really have an issue with the trade, given those circumstances.

I was just having a good laugh about his timeline to rebuild a team. He spent almost an entire decade insisting that the Canucks could have done it quickly back when they had no good young players in the system to work with(other than Bo) and just a bunch of expiring vets with NTC's and he constantly argued with me that it should only take 3-4 seasons... and all the teams he used for examples pretty much failed at what he pointed to as a model. Now he's talking 4 times longer...

Lefty's all over the map. We were only one Sam Bennett away from playoff success!

Preaching "draft & develop" but if one of us bring it up we're "drama queens".

Quite frankly he's an embarrassment to this thread and his family.

Four years is plenty of time, Pettersson will only be 28 years old then and Quinn, Hughes 27. The Canucks are kind of like where the avalanche were when they had to do a reset. Takes time. Be patient.
