I’m thinking about adopting a second team since this organization has been a tire fire for 12 seasons now and unless they get Bedard this year, it’ll be another 12 before they’re competitive again. Who would be a good choice? Edmonton?, NYR?

May I suggest the Boston Bruins?

Come join me and start cheering for the team to win games. A nice 15 game heater, to close out the season should help with team chemistry and confidence for next season.
It might even help management see just how close they are to being near the top of the bubble group, so a few key off-season additions and the team is even closer.
This tanking stuff is for losers, the Canucks are way better off accumulating some wins now and picking in the 11-16range, than they are being losers and not trying to improve systems play and comorodity, with the new players

Go Canucks Go.

Miller has already taken a step back from last season. Will he take another step back next season? I wouldn't be quick to claim he should be elite for a couple of seasons. He had one big break out season then a step back. Both Petey and Horvat are having better seasons than Miller and they are better defensive players as well... I don't see elite coming out of him this season.

I would understand the rush and short cuts to maximize the years of this young core if it were showing signs of being a very competitive team who can compete for a cup down the road.... but we are concerned that a core that is 6th last in the NHL might not want to stick around in a couple of seasons and it sure doesn't sound like a loss of what could have been to me....

This management could of been farther ahead but they sat on their hands through their first TDL, then didnt make moves again around draft day... then invested heavily on Miller/Boeser and UFA's causing more cap issues. Followed by changing gears once again mid season... they have been going in circles since they arrived. I'm not at all convinced they will pick one direction yet.

They made the choice because the numbers showed JTM has produced better than Bo over the years. It’s not based on one season.

Anyway, you either sell both Bo and JTM and keep going on to sell the core for a major rebuild. Or, you keep what you can and add to the holes and needs.

That said they added speed, RHD and size, all under 25yrs , in their moves. If it doesn’t work out then they sell the young core in their prime.

Who knows. They started the season with a better team than they have now and it really flopped. Now they removed a 35-40 goal scoring center. As usual, it will come down to whether Demko plays like a world class goalie or not.

Part of reason this season was such a failure.

The West seems wide open season to season. Many teams slide up and down. Consistent play is what separates.

Canucks have some amazing undeniable talent. They need to learn to play better as a team. Some players work others don’t. This is why there is this retool mentality.

Canucks, with the recent changes, from players to management, think they can be in the mix next season. But is that enough? Confidence is a funny thing how it can propel players to play great.

On Boeser…

Him being a quiet type personality I think he’s relieved to stay here. He’s looking a bit better out there of late. I think he’ll pick it up more & up his value. If he goes into the offseason with a team given to do list & improves his stride & edges it will be the best move in his career. I’m still thinking last year & injuries have taken longer than many would like for him to come back from. Forget the Beauty League & be an offseason workaholic is mandatory.

- Nighthawk

Lol. Boeser doesn’t give a flying (frank) about hard work or improvement. Laziest, most entitled clown to wear the jersey in a very long time

Miller hasn't taken a step back from last season. He had a bit more puck luck last season.

Can’t be in the same division, preferably not in the same conference, I’d go for an eastern team. Anybody but Boston.

So what draft pick are they going to attach to move Boeser in the off-season a 3rd? Who needs draftnpicks it has nothing to do why we're in such a mess

Detroit who has the gm that helped shape Tampa the same Detroit that is ahead of us in the standings is selling to get better faster. One gm is playing chess and the other is struggling to learn the rules to hungry hungry hippos. Maybe they don't have Chess in Sweden where allvin grew up²

Stevie good GM. Good at shaping teams, I'd like to see him get one over the line though.

If I was trying to be a new fan of a team from the East, I would be looking at a team like Columbus, who has several good players in their lineup already with several good quality young defensemen in the system.
Providing said person is looking for a team that has a bright future.

Totally. Good gm.

They have better propects than us and he's still stock piling picks. He has a good track record. I think the biggest difference is its abundantly clear our owner doesn't value draft picks highly

Big game tonight.

6-4 Canucks.

The start of a 5 game heater and a move up in the standings, to get closer to the final playoff spot.

Should be a nice push for a playoff spot, to end the season.

Wanted to share this assessment commentary I found below and get people’s thoughts.

“Do a good bad and ugly on this management it might go like this.

Good - Improved development in minor system. A huge improvement that could really help with controlling future cap issues. Supply players with cap control.
Good - Kuzmenko, Mikehev
Good- Trading Horvat and adding Raty , Beauvillier and Hronek
Good- Adding some low cost high reward assets.
Bad - Signing JT to an extension and not turning him into high value future assets. Assets that could have been used to land a #2 center . Or draft one.
Ugly - Signing Boeser to a 6.65 mil 3 year extension when you new you were cap strapped and continued to tell us that one of your biggest things to do was to create cap flexibility.”

Van's owner wants playoffs. Detroits owner wants cups

Allvin has a tough but not impossible job ahead of him. Playoff mandate will most likely just equal sort term first round losses.

Detroit has 1 player over 40 points. Van has 5 and one player has double the amount of points as their 2nd highest scorer.

At this point in time Raymond is probably about as good as Boeser.
