Raty an A+ center prospect? WTF? 3l C is his floor? His floor is the AHL... and he isn't nowhere near a NHL player yet.
Who's this 25y/o point per game winger you are talking about? He has 31 points in 61 one games.
This 19y/o winger prospect you speak of wasn't part of the Bo trade.
Bo is probably going to score 40 goals this season. He is a beast on the PP, takes the most faceoffs in the league, near or at the top in f/o numbers always... a true playoff performer.... still trending upwards in his career.
People keep exaggerating how great the return is... or in your case just making crap up.
I have, for over 5 decades. Hopefully you can understand my "faith" has dwindled and turned me the bitter and resentful ray of sunshine that I am today. - VanHockeyGuy
Come on man, who are you trying to fool, I have been posting here for 16 years, and following for 18, other than the cup run, the sentiment here has always been the same...doom, gloom and despondency...

Bo lost the room to generational talent Miller and was a pending Ufa who was walking at the and of the season. Bealaveu(sp) has out scored Bo and put up a point a game since coming over, a la JT Miller.
Raty was a high draft pick with top line upside, he's very young with size, r knew top prospect and is low risk to project as a2/3c. He's an A- prospect at worse.
The 19yo wasn't part of the bo trade, I got all excited and included him by mistake.

You tell him Makita, some of these doom and groomers are always complaining. I don't know why they can't appreciate a team that has been as successful as the Canucks have been.

They traded Bo Horvat and a 2nd round pick for Hronek, Raty, Beauvillier and a 4th round pick. At the end of the day, providing the haters take their shades off, they got a top four 25 year old right shot dman, a winger who’s producing with EP40 (although I’m sure Lordy could pop a few in that spot) and a good young center prospect.
The trades, in and of themselves in their totality, are not that bad when you consider roster needs and money they would’ve had to spend to keep Horvat. - LeftCoaster
BS, Hronek injury prone, Raty is a bust with Abby, Beau is only 15 goals...bust, 4th round pick will never make NHL, (unless of course the Canucks traded the 4th then it's potential a Datsyuk player)

Stick the success poope, support the team, have an open mind, new management trying but the know-it-alls seem to think they can do better from the basement.
And the negative Nellies aren't groomers, it's doom and gloom.

My first post was trash, you're right - Vental
Well you didnt do very well with this one either.
Bo lost the room? Where's the facts on that? Nowhere... just a projection.
Beauvillier out performing Bo? Their season didnt start 3 weeks ago. Bo has 36 goals and 62 points in 61 games... better than a ppg. Beau has 15g 31p in 61. Bo is a top C and Beau is a middle 6 winger. Player value isn't evaluated by a 3 week sample sizes. One player was progressing year by year and the other degressing. Beau may just be going through a bump currently... we don't know.
Raty was a high regarded prospect. WAS... He has fallen off and is, and has been struggling. He is a project... his skating at 21y/o is not NHL. It's one thing to say that about an 18y/o prospect and suggest there's lots of time to work on it but he's a 21 y/o pro now and his skating is still a concern. And since you like to focus on recent weeks only in assessing trade value... he's not producing barely at all in the AHL. He has 1 point in 8 games and is a -5 since the trade. As a 21y/o "A" prospect in the AHL, that stinks.

So I guess you are back to whining about people's discussions and trolling posters in here. Sad part is they will get banned if they get fed up with your chickenpoop way of mocking people through a 3rd person rather than just discuss what they say in their posts with them...
Instead of all the negativity let’s talk about how lucky we are to get petey at 5th overall because we havn’t had a top 5 pick since the twins. When benning called his name it was WTF I think he was ranked mid round and he took a flyer on him, they have to make him want to stay by fixing this and they are, they are far from done they know it.

And here you are mocking my post because I like the moves and want to give another outlook but nope you have to tear everyone down that doesn't agree with you.

I mean.... you're not wrong about any of this but it's hard to be optimistic with facts.
I would rather hit the bong and pretend everything is going to be OK, click my heels 3 times and have a good team. Raty could be Naslund 2.0.... not likely but there a chance.
I liked the trade and I like the RHD. Don't like the 2 and wish it was next years first.

I never mocked you. Another one of your favorite things to do to posters on here... lie about what they say. I'm not tearing anyone down on here. I'm in a discussion.
You are the one being over the top sarcastic about people's opinions, mocking them through 3rd person and projecting things they havent done or said. That would suggest you are being the narcissist.

Pettersson, Hughes and Demko are the core, great additions by the GM lately. Don't need to list them all but positive moves. Let's see how next season starts out but I WILL remain positive about next season.

Nothing wrong with liking the trade but I find people are pumping it up too much too early. We still don't know where that 1st rounder will end up in draft order... could be a relief could be a disaster.
I find the Naslund comparison interesting. People remember how great he was but forget his stardom was short lived. It took him a long time to develop into a high end center but fell off rather quickly. Luckily Van had him for his best years.

He (Naslund) also was a winger who benefited from Bertuzzi developing into a Cam Neely-type power forward and Morrison being the puck distributing defensively good center. I suspect had Bertuzzi not turned into what he did, Naslund wouldn't be as good as he was. Bertuzzi created all the space Naslund needed to get his wrist shot off and pick the corners while Morrison played interference and distributed the puck.

I think if the Canucks didn't have OEL they'd more be one top 4 D away from competing.
They've got a star center or 2 and a star LHD as well as a top goalie. If things go their way and they play with structure they should be top 3 in the pacific.
