Pearson sounds like he might be done permanently. Poolman is apparently skating with the team today.

Myers and OEL buyouts are unlikely, leaving Brock and Garland....and even then.

This team still needs two top 4 D and a 2nd line center to even attempt a bubble performance next year and they are theoretically already over the cap with the trash roster we have now.

Even with a couple buy-outs, the viability of being a competitive team next year is slim to none.

- Whiskey-Tango

I’m leaving it open if being competitive next year.

On needing 2 top 4 D 1 is more my way of thinking that makes OEL the 4th where he’s better suited.

As for a 2C that will be Miller & I’m totally fine with that. 3C is the focus where we lack the most.

Trash roster is totally out of line. Sounds more like spilt milk. More moves have to happen & will happen. Using these last 20 or so games left will lead into next seasons training camp. I fully expect we won’t crap the bed to start the season. Too much room for growth starting with Demko being better.

Hronek will greatly improve break outs & D scoring & be a big part of playing up tempo. Still leaves much more defensive D to improve or be added. Idk how or when but it’s the biggest challenge ahead. Team D is so horrible & the PK outright abysmal & improving that alone isn’t asking for much. RT & company have plenty of time to fix that to the degree to improve the team. Bubble team will be the min expectations & pretty confident that is the low bar that will be set. 2024/25 will be the year we really need to see big results.

Do you think they care about a 2 mil cap hit in the year 2028 to 2031? If they do then they never should have traded for Hronek
- VANTEL

I think FA does. They as in JB is gone. Still saying it’ll be 1-2yrs unless something else gives on OEL.

And don't get me wrong, I do love the Kratsov, Stillman, Lazar moves but, even with moving Bo out, this management team that has been preaching cap flexibility for two years has somehow managed to bring net new money in over and above what we started the year with lol. Let that sink in...

Sitting 27th last in the league lol.

- Whiskey-Tango

This year is a wash out. Draft & offseason is a better time to make a better judgement. I’m going to be guarded on my optimism & wait n see.

I recommend adding a gram of mushrooms to your blender drink. We used to call them Electric Daiquiris.

Oof I got a 1/2oz so this summer could be electric indeed 🤪

Orlov is left side.

I realize that. I see Hughes as a rover so they work it out.

Pod Wolanin & Juulsen we’re only papered down to Abby to be eligible for the AHL playoffs.

Very nice, I'll have to give it a try. I usually just wash them down with a beer. This sounds more refined.

Because they are so close this season and the team isn't even as good as when the season started. He's an idiot.

They hit faster. Usually, you'd get the internal gigglies before the drink is empty. Strawberry Electric Daiquiris were the go to.

Only first year... then it is 9.3mil for 2 years and roughly 11.4 mill for the remaining 5 years.

I know many won't like hearing this but Dries is signed next year and has 11 goals in a little over fifty games. I don't remember the last 3C to score 10 goals. I think they will look to upgrade but I don't think they are in panic mode to overspend on that spot.

Same as Briesbois and/or Wally to play LHD next year.

They have made moves we didn’t expect. So probably more to come.

Then there is the development factor. Raty could come around for 3C or the player drafted in 1sr round could be ready to win that spot.

Raty has a ways to go and with Dries in the system there is no need to rush him.

Truthfully if they do not draft top 4 then all bets are off with me to what they do with that pick.

Well that was... underwhelming. But better than trading more picks I suppose.

Hopefully in the summer after teams crash out of the playoffs and they have more cap flexibility, they'll be open to more trades. Maybe if the rumors were true a team would up an offer for JTM, and the Canucks could snag some young C with the picks.

What a boost it would be to pick 1 or 2. Let's just (frank)ing hope they win the lotto...

Agreed. Wolanin has earned a spot IMO. If we are forced to keep OEL at least until his buyout makes more sense, then give him sheltered minutes.

I really hope Kravtsov and Podz form some chemistry with Dries for the 3rd line. That could be fun to watch.

I am guessing but that is what I think they are hoping for.

I think if they drop from the top 4 that pick will be used to get another young D in a trade. It will piss a lot of people off for sure.

With the moves they've made, the stating of buyouts, and the way they're pushing for the playoffs... I don't see them waiting long for an OEL buyout. If Wolanin/Breis can do what OEL does for 1 mil over those first four seasons, and they buy out OEL.. that's basically the same as paying one of those guys 5.7 at the peak of the buyout (years 3 and 4). Basically saving 1.5 mil.

(Note: I don't think it's smart, it's not what I would do, I can just see them doing it)

If that is the bottom floor for our third line then I am okay with Dries Podz and Krav. If they do get a better center even better. I would also be okay with a Garland Mikheyev JTM second line. Boeser needs to go

Benning 2.0 and Benning 2.1 at that point.

Just simmed the lotto and got number 2. But I think anything in the top 7 and there's a good chance at a C, you gotta take that.

Why not, listen to the fans/media and the sky is falling, but I'll agree with Allvin. He made a couple of good moves and a few minor ones, glad he got Hronek, Bloom interests me, and Kravtsov and Beauvillier will be great additions. Raty a good prospect.

Just want to give some balance here to the negative depressing outlook by most of you...
