I’d be surprised if next seasons 1st isn’t dealt this summer - CanuckDon
Can't say I would be shocked if it is traded. |

I was just going to post this @ Vantel. I totally agree. This years 1st will be off limits so they have nothing significant to use other than the 2024 1st.

They clearly don't. Why DET is a good trade partner. - VanHockeyGuy
You guys are such drama queens. They have six picks in the first four rounds, including a top ten overall.
They traded a pending UFA who they haven’t been able to win anything with, which isn’t solely his fault, for a top four young right shot dman.
Y’all female dog they need to re-make the defense, and then complain when they do. Given that they’re not rebuilding and want to be competitive with a good young core it’s fine. They have a mandate from Francesco. Adding the second rounder was dumb, but whatever, like mini always says, the chances of that kid they pick becoming a 200 game player is slim. |

I might be reading this wrong but I think Don is saying he expects our first to be traded this year.

I would suggest the adding pieces here and there method, which is all they can do, it’s going to be four years to competitiveness or fourteen years if they have to start all over again. |

Six trades. I assume they could care less what we think. Trading those two draft picks made me think they are going all in. - VANTEL
Don’t forget the signings and trades prior to January. Funny enough they sent 3 of them off again. |

They should have papered him down to the AHL.... - Pres.cup
They should put him on waivers. Force him to quit. Kidnap his dog. Whatever the (frank) it takes |

No I don’t believe they will trade this years first as the player drafted can likely contribute in two seasons. They won’t care about next years First |

I would take Seider over Hughes - golfingsince
Of course because we don’t have sieder. |
|
|
|
He should be gone next year. Dries I think could still be here but they are actively looking for a center. - VANTEL
Could be, I think they like Amman 4th line with Joshua and ? |

I think anyone with any semblance of intelligence would take Moritz Seider over Quinn Hughes. |

This fan base wants a rebuild but the complaining for 14 years would be epic lol |

I agree I think they do like Joshua and Aman. Someone suggested Reaves. I would not mind seeing some nastiness added to the fourth line. I like Garret Hathaway seeing he can do the PK and put up a few points. |

I did say I might be reading it wrong
Anyways I have no idea what this management group is thinking but I think I remember JR trading seven of his first round draft picks with Pitts, so I am in the wait and see mode. |

Havn’t really followed the wings but fans are never satisfied and appreciate an elite talent. |

I want one too, but it ain’t happening. So you be realistic about it. Years upon years of mismanagement has them at zero Cups. I’d just love for them to be more competitive, all this losing over the past decade is killing the fan base.
One Benning move killed any momentum he had, in retrospect, trading what would end up being the 9th overall pick for OEL. That’s really hurting the organization right now.
Dumb and dumber compounded the issue by hastily signing Miller and giving Boeser a stupid contract.
The mismanagement just keeps on keepin on. |

No OEL would mean cap to keep Horvat or have an actual top 4D to round out this team. - Pres.cup
You know they would have spent the cap on a UFA D. Who probably would be worse than Myers and Poolman. But then they would have Gunther and some other prospect. Plus not be looking to find a taker for Garland.
OEL fell off a cliff this season. Maybe he stays down and enjoys his money. |

I remember when demko was in Utica and Ullmark was in the ahl they were neck and neck as the best in the league, solid structure, fix the d, get a center, demko back to form we can compete. |

Yup very true. Beagle Roussel and the Boston guy when they had 17 mil in space. Looked good on paper and failed miserably with Canucks systems and coaching.
There is no guarantee Benning would have taken Gunther. I remember one draft sitting and waiting for Tkachuck

No way I keep Horvat at the price NYI’s paid. No way in hell. |

Despite their FOUR Stanley Cups, the Islanders have been mismanaged for pretty much the past 30 years as well, and that doesn’t look to be changing any time soon. |
