Still think he should be fired tomorrow for waiting until the 11th hour.

Judge by results, not style. If he pulls something big off, he should keep his job. If he just sits here and we get knocked out in the first (and haven't positioned ourselves better for next year) he should definitely go.

Man... Don't ruin my day.

I want 3pm to get here so Hexy can't do any damage. Same way I used to feel about Rutherford in his last days here.

Man this team is old lol.

- madmike71

Seriously... I don't get Ron's idea of building for the future when all he does is add 30+ year olds.

Like, he should have been all in on Chychrun... thats what GMJR did when he was trying to get some youth in the lineup.

Oh yeah the Granlund move alone is a fireable offense

The #habs are playing third-party broker in the Nick Bonino trade between SJ/PIT. They get a fifth-round draft pick for the trouble.

Bonino with money retained? Never opposed to paying less

Bonino is a fine auxiliary addition for the 4th line. It’s just stupid that he’s the best move we’ve made

If the Pens didn't have a logjam at LD and already had Rutta for trunculance, the Kulikov move wouldn't have been terrible in a vacuum but... with all the options that other teams went with... these are the moves Hextall saw as fit? Gross.

The only overpay the entire deadline was the Jeanot trade imo.

If Kuli and Bones happen, that will be 14 players on the roster who are 30+. That's pretty comical.

I do like washing away McGinn's contract with the Kulikov deal. Give Hexy credit for fixing that mistake. Doesn't make up for Granlund, but it helps for next year.

It's does kind of seem like this could be the plan. Although at same time it all seems like Hex has no plan. Not much time left either
- MHurl

That’s why I don’t understand why this McGinn move wasn’t made back when Kapanen was waived. You’d have more time to pull off a deal versus the last hour

The Kulikov trade gets out from under McGinn so at least that is an obvious plus to that one. His card from last year before going to Anaheim looks a lot better than I gave him credit for so I think he could pan out on the second line with Petry. If we can dump Dumo this could all come solid.

Meh, it's not much but we might as well cash in on our unused cap space ... another pick on top of all the others we have.

No. He’s an over the hill defensive d man who who’s way overdeployed. Best case scenario for him with us is that he’s like Gudbranson and can be competent on the third pairing.

Minnesota just moved Greenway to Buffalo with no salary going back...

Here is Ron's final trade of the day:

PIT: Fleury, Beauvillier (1/2 ret)
VAN: Pettersson, MIN 1st, Hartman, Poulin
MIN: Boeser, DeSmith

I actually don't mind Kulikov. He has been playing 20 minutes a game and I think he could be a good replacement if we got rid of Dumo

Why did they dodge a bullet? JvR is good, and on an expiring contract. The exact type of flyer the Pens should have taken.
