He needs to be fired asap. It's true everyone said he needed to make a move a while ago.

I wasn't a big fan of the retool idea like the Caps but it seems like a dream compared to this. This feels more like a tank job. Might as well sell off the core next year at this rate and call it an Era. Ok over reaction but that's what going through my mind. Way too many good teams and now we're handcuffed with this salary

Haha that'll make ownership real happy, paying that much for a guy in WBS. He's fired
- 668710

Yeah I think there will be a press release of his firing the very next day after our season ends. This seems over with the beat 100% against him. The beat doesn’t blast a GM/coach unless they know he’s on the way out because it risks access.

Can our liquidation store offer you a gently used Connor Murphy as a solution for your second pairing?

Everything must go, sales starting at 50% off.

- TommyHawk

No but we'll offer you a new manager for your store, he'll bring in a bunch of crap that you'll never be able to sell off even at 80 percent off.

I'm pretty sure we can't call McCginn up?
- 668710
It's close but I think we can after Friday. Costs 1.125 more to bring him up and we will have 1.147 in space Friday.

Totally. I've never seen consensus from beat and fans like this. Going prices for trades were reasonable too except Jeanott. Several examples of retention. Look at Leafs with McCabe and he's actually younger and better and still got retention for 3 years

The Pens have 11 starters 30+. A couple more are real close. That's just gross mismanagement.

So Carter and Granlund on the same line…Kapanen 2.0 but with a higher salary

Well Granlund is better than Kap haha, I know that's not saying much. But like I said earlier, if Carter had his scoring touch still they could have been a pretty decent combination. Kap didn't bring anything, Granlund is a decent playmaker.

Coming into the trade deadline the Penguins needed to get older, slower, less committed to forechecking, pooptier defensively, worse at scoring goals, and less flexible against the cap.

Mission accomplished

Its not an over reaction tbh, same thought has crossed my mind. Not necessarily sell the core off, but there is zero chance they contend again in this era.

The thing I havent seen discussed a lot is that this guy is clearly the anti-Mike Sullivan move. I think there is bad blood between Hextall and Sullivan. This guy does nothing that sullivan wants. He cannot forecheck, is very defensively irresponsible, and isnt known for being a great skater. I've seen people on Twitter say he is slow, but i dont think I'd agree with that just based on YouTube highlights, but still. A clear downgrade from what Sully wanted.

So options. Fire Hex tonight. Let Burke be in the GM role may as well trade Dumo and Zuck for picks and prospects. If we are gonna suck may as well go all in right?

The Penguins spent the entire season being so cap-strapped they couldn't play their best prospects. As of Wednesday, they'll be unable to fill out a 23-player roster because they're still cap-strapped — all to add a bottom-six center who is 31, and has brutal metrics.

FSG had meetings today with Penguins personnel in Florida.
Ron Hextall was back in Pittsburgh.

Someone should have been babysitting Ron today. Big mistake.

I figured at the very least we could acquire some picks which may be able to be used to get us out of the Granlund issue this summer. I am still in shock. How do we go from Chychrun and Miller to Granlund...how?
