Losing Petts to fit Boeser would be a massive f'n error. Like Bluey, McGinn and Kap gone for Granlund might end up being net positive...especially if DOC can keep playing like he has.....might..but we cant trade our best defensive D-man, who still has term, for a poop forward...can we?
Actually, Hex totally can....especially if he's on the way out.... |

I'm with you on that! I think this will be a lot worse if we trade Pettersson. Especially for Boeser. I still want Miller because I definitely think he could help bring offense to the bottom 6 and move up to Malkin's winger come FA. Boeser unless have is retained makes no sense for the bottom six. Especially if Pettersson is moving out. It just makes a bigger hole in the D and would really make us a horrible defensive team. |

Plus even from his Flyers days he values players like Dumo because they are veterans and leaders. Even though they suck on the ice just like in Dumo and Carters case. |

Maybe we can use the 3rd round picks and move off McGinn and Heinen? Trade Dumo for a 2nd. Then bring in Miller, or Tom Wilson for the 3rd line lol. |

Has a GM ever got canned the day before deadline? I think I would do it first thing this morning before he makes things even worse.
What do GMs do on a daily basis? It seems like a lot, if not most of them are actually bad at making hockey teams, and success is luck based in many cases. |

Good news is that Vancouver has no need for LD. They have Hughes, OEL and Dermott. Can't see Pettersson being a player of interest... unless they are sending us OEL. That might be concerning but I have thought he might be a Hextall target as a poor (but also expensive!) man's Chuchryn. |

TBH I would rather him trade Dumo for a pick and try to trade a pick for Drouin or Hoffman (cap retained on either and I feel they would come cheaper than giving up Pettersson).
Or maybe Trade for someone like Kulikov and Vatrano for Dumo, McGinn, Heinen, a pick and prospect.

I don think it's even possible to get OEL unless Vancouver retains salary(which it seems they don't wanna do) so I THINK were safe from a trade with Vancouver for OEL. Fingers crossed |

If they traded Dumo for a pick they could trade Mcginn and pick/prospect for Miller then. |

Even so, OEL coming back would need to have cap retained and we still probably wouldn't be able to make the cap space work. Plus if you think about it Boeser wouldn't be coming back either in that case (we would have no cap space to fit both). |

That is my dream scenario. Then again, I was hoping to do just that plus land Chychrun somehow. Now I'm just hoping Hex doesn't mess anything else up at this point. |

I'm not worried about not getting Chychurn, as long as we keep Petterson haha |

I can’t see hex thinking everything is set now. I think there will be another move with a dman.
Pets, dumo, petty?
Hard to move both mcginn and Heinen. Who else to play by wing? |

They would retain enough to make it happen on OEL. It would likely be OEL for Pettersson and McGinn as the deal, cap is pretty close there. By no means do I want a deal like that to happen but I do think that he is a guy like Matheson who could do well playing in our system.
It better not happen and if it does it better include a 1st coming back our way.

Dude, you're over-reacting. The prices have been crazy and the pens just aren't that good/close to warrant such moves. They will try to find value moves, not overpay for no reason on players who won't make a significant enough of a difference... - mventres
Prices have not been crazy lol the only thing crazy is what Tampa paid for Jeannot

Pens now have just about 1.7 mill in cap space.... So why couldn't they call up Nylander or Pruus? |

Yea that's been the only crazy price. And it sure was crazy but that's the game Tampa plays, they pay a premium for those low cap hits. |
