Ya but he only got called for one pick when he throws them all game, he slashed JT stick out of hand, he tripped Gio, he hooked Rielly and that was not even trying to focus on his missed calls.

He clearly gets calls and he literally caused a media frenzy about non calls in McDavid from all his crying in interviews that entire season.

Folks can disagree and that’s fine but he gets every benefit when he’s involved a play. If he loses tue puck or falls the refs are itching to make a call

I'm not gonna disagree. You're right.

Matthews has looked bad all season. I thought he looked better the first couple games back after injury, but he hasn't looked awesome.

Maybe he needs surgery or something. Very strange.

- Archaic

He’s been unreal good without the puck and is still putting up good numbers and still performing like a First line centre - but man I agree. He looks off and I gotta be honest and say I don’t feel he’s playing like someone talked about in the same sentence as a guy like McDavid or warn that kind of cash.

He’s still been very good though and sometimes (and deservingly so due to hype and cash) folks judge him on that Rocket/Ted/Hart numbers and dominance

I think he had something going on before the season started and then the crosscheck by Benn (frank)ed his ribs up. And that's a long healing time when you're doing nothing. But he's out there basically every game now.

Ya man. Absolutely. I agree he was invisible tonight for sure. Not sure what that means in terms of the calls McJesus gets but yes, he was not good at all. Non of the Leafs big boys played tonight in my opinion.
- Big23Questions

Didnt mean it in relation to the calls mcdavid gets thing.

Marner had a decent game but he had the same problem the rest of them did. Getting close to Edmonton's net was a problem, maintaining any kind of cycle play or generating anything in Edmonton's zone was a problem. Not the greatest look from the offensive studs against a team who absolutely blows in their own end.

Im not loving Keefes decision making of late, but I can sympathize with the idea that it's tough to have guys ready when you just met them probably today. He's got more guys coming, he's got a lineup to figure out... It was never going to completely fall into place, it's going to take some time.

But also if we're still functioning from the same capacity of wanting Rielly/Holl to be your top pairing, he's gonna (frank) it up anyways. 🤷

- joel878

Imagine, Holl on the top pairing! Unbelievable!
We’ve had guys come and go from the AHL AND Keefe mix up the lines constantly! They still should have been able to put up a fight.

I feel disappointed and sad about this game. I blame Springsteen, and the woke mob.

I agree, O’Rielly should be playing 3rd line center.

Question for you Hockeybuzzards

I’ve gone to 2 weddings in the last 4 weeks, all out of state, and am going to another this weekend, also out of state.

I’m pretty warn out.

I was invited to another in Punta de Mita Mexico in a few months. I’m kind of done.

Do I suck it up and go?

Ya sometimes I feel like 34/16/91 don’t look engaged and it is so odd to me - so good and so much skill that they frankly don’t even need to be fully dialed to make a difference you know - but they just look like nothing will upset ever and that’s a bad look when you’re playing puck

I see a different Matthews with Willie than I do with Marner, the one with Willie is far more engaged.

Keefe always trying to force Marner back with Matthews when there hasn't been a problem to fix. Don't get it.

ROR has been good up there.

I just like Bertuzzi and I think after all this they get one more good winger.

If Dubas has a better idea then sweet.

I feel the same watching the Leafs with Keefe. He switches things a bit much in my opinion.

I’ve already done the others.

I was just in Chicago for one.

I have the money, but it’s becoming wild. I’m invited in every bachelor party too.

I’ve been all over God’s creation for weddings this year. Recently, I was in South Carolina for a bachelor party, was out until 3am, got a 7am flight home for another wedding.

I was there until 3am and it was in Norwood, MA.

He forces guys into a spot and then wants to die on that hill. Like Rielly and Holl, anyone who's ever watched a hockey game could have told you that was not a good idea... He's still trying to force it out.

The 5 forward PP, Keefe... It's not (frank)ing working. No one does this for a reason. 5 games later he's still forcing it.

I don't know if it's an ego thing at that point or what but he needs to become more fluid and adaptable where it's needed, and stop forcing change where it's not... Or its going to be a quick playoffs.

Gio and Lil have been really good

McCabe and Brodie are probably a good fit

Blame Kyle not Keefe

It’s awful playing for a coach that thinks he’s the smartest and most innovative guy in the room you know. Not sure if that’s the case here with Keefe - but if yes then you can connect the dots as to why guys aren’t dialled in all the time. After a while you become complacent and he becomes fridge buzz
