The Carter trade was a good deal at the time. I'm actually less worried about Hextall making deals at the TDL than I was GMJR.

Not over Pettersson though.

The right move was to move Dumoulin and not to touch the rest of the D. We rejiggered the deck chairs for no reason and lost a lot of cap flexibility to it.

Blueger was the first prospect I really followed (barring rust) when I started seriously following the penguins. Saw him play in the hockey east tourney while I was college. He turned into quite the solid player and was part of some really good 4th lines. Not denying that this season has been abysmal but I’ll miss him.

Yeah, I'll miss him too. Unfortunately the one ace he had to stay, the PK, has gone to crap.

First prospect for me was Talbot. Went to a lot of WBS games back then. He was "superstar" well before he made the bigs. Other 2 from that team I really thought were going to be something were Carcillo and Michel Ouellet(so much for my scouting skills lol). Also did get to see Biz and Whitney play together in one game.

I disagree….while carter was good for a season they still failed in the playoffs and it resulted with an extension for whatever reason. I give that trade a d-. Rak is really the only good trade he’s done.

It seems like they're going for a C to me... If they're awknowledging that Kap, McGinn and Bluey are probs there's no way they think Carter isn't one too, Carter has been fine or that he's fine for being C on the 3rd line... Pretty sure Hex AND Sullivan have both said they like guys who can play C and wing... Swiss army knives...

Goaltending has sunk the Pens the past 2 years, nothing else. Hextall should be fired for not having addressed that.

He was their #23 ranked prospect in their system. He has moved his way up their ranks. I believe this is his first year in the AHL.
