Lots of smoke around the #Canucks today. While there's a lot of JT Miller speculation, I'm told the Canucks & Penguins have had serious discussions about Brock Boeser. Work to be done, and other teams in play, but Boeser chatter picking up and PIT has genuine interest.

I really don’t hate it. We still need to figure out 3C but he can score goals and that would give us a really strong 3 deep down the right side.

Yeah no that's not actually a big need. I wouldn't hate it though. Could use a fourth line and PK wing if McGinn goes and maybe they move Blueger. But it wouldn't really solve any problems.

Lol. Just call up Hallander, Puustinen, and Nylander and see if any of those guys along with DOC can stick anywhere to fill out the rest of the roster.

I still refuse to believe the Penguins will make any "big" moves. If they do, I suspect that's Hextall feeling the heat or getting pressured from Burke or FSG. Burke's job likely depends on Hextall doing something right so I'd bet he has some opinions.

I keep going back to one of Hextall or Burke saying when they first joined the Penguins that the Penguins were too easy to play against in the playoffs (which i and alot of others agreed with) and several years later, this team has never been easier to play against.

Bit of both. Everyone knew both those moves were bad when they happened but it took a certain amount of balls to actually waive them so I’ll give some credit there.

I remember everyone telling me McGinn was way better than Tanev and on a better contract. Lots of hind sight around here.

Pretty sure everyone agreed that the McGinn contract was just as bad as the Tanev contract and there wasn’t much of a point in getting rid of Tanev just to replace him with McGinn. Hind sight says McGinn is a lot worse than Tanev but I don’t remember anyone thinking it was a good move at the time

I do feel like POJ would have to be a valued piece going through other way for it to make sense for Van and I think I might be ok with that. Pettersson being traded would really sting.

Problem is you knew what you were getting and extended him at a raise.

Waiving Kapanen and McGinn...

A positive sign that Hextall is willing to correct his own mistakes?
