In all seriousness I'm surprised we haven't done something... I think it seems obvious that Hextall is going to wait around and try to pick up the scraps cheap at the last minute. I'm not totally opposed to that approach.

I feel anyone with a brain knew this team sucked since august. G, bottom 6 and D….all this could have been addressed over time. Now it looks like there is no plan and he can’t swing deals. He’ll probs over pay for some bums he could have had for Pennie’s in Jan. Now everyone knows pens are in a jam.

I think he is the same scenario as Petry... not the player he was due to age and injuries. Would have been a great fit 3 years ago.

We need forwards. I was cool with Chychrun if we still addressed the forwards but that was always unlikely due to cap reasons.

That is an underwhelming offer. The Penguins easily could've met it if they wanted to. I think a lot of this is just smoke and mirrors by Hextall to make it seem like we are trying to do something major when in reality, we will trade for JVR for a 3rd and be done with it.

Assuming this deadline doesnt excite anyone or change any opinions on him, fire Hextall right after it. No reason to keep him around when you need someone new to hit the ground running.

4th Period says Penguins were heavily involved in Chychrun, but they needed to make it work money wise whereas Ottawa didnt.

Hahaha What?... We don't even know if Hex was kicking the tires on Church for sure and therefore no idea if he couldn't swing a deal. Who has he overpaid for in trades? His Rak trade was fn great. It's his supporting cast signings that are trash. Now everyone knows Pens are in a jam because the Sens traded for Church?
