Yeah there's quite a bit of nuance to the cap for so many people to act like experts on it.

Yeah I get that but someone posted a tweet from Tayler Hasse yesterday stating that with Kap gone they really had 5.5 mill in cap space, even though Capfriendly says right now that the deadline space is 2 mill....so if that 5.5 were true....and no one claims McGinn or Friedman, which I think will be the case, what are we at then? around 7 mill in space? if so, another about 5.6 mill space to go for those two.

Nope, Kapanen gone put us to ~$2M. IF McGinn and Friedman were claimed, we'd have $5.7M. Since they did not, we have $4M.

I for one am glad to see Friedman cleared. He's a good enough depth d-man along with Ruhwedel that we dont need to make the classic "trade deadline depth defenseman trade"

I don’t think it’s a big deal if the irons are truly this hot I’m sure there’s a plan in place to execute the planned trades. McGinn was unlikely to get claimed so gotta imagine it was a flyer to see if we could get rid of him for free without having to do a slightly less appealing deal to offload mcginn’s contract.
