It's over need to move on

I guess I have belabored a trade that literally happened within the last hour, when I said literally nothing. Thanks for advising other posters how to post. Like we need more of that.

The mourning period is exactly 59 minutes after the trade is concluded… so we’re in violation of the rules.

So Pope writes that Kane is the best Blackhawk of all time. Sorry, it was Mikita. The Hawks were just as bad if not worse when Mikita and Hull came than when Toews and Kane came.

Plus Mikita did more for the cCommunity, especially help founding hockey for the hearing impaired than what Kane ever did.

Of course Pope is probably not old enough to see Mikita play.

Kane’s final gift to us will be a trip to the conference finals, book it.

I don’t know how anyone can be upset with Kane, the reason it was hard for him is because he loves Chicago, whatever, this guy has earned it. He’s my all time favorite player without a doubt. Not only does he have the hall of fame accolades, but night in and night out, he was such an entertaining player to watch. I’m actually more emotional than I expected to be, truly the end of an era.

I’ll be a rangers fan for the rest of the year supporting 88.

Just wait until you see him in a Ranger's jersey. Until I saw Keith in an Oiler's jersey it didn't sink in.

End of the greatest era in Hawk's history. Best of luck to one of the greatest Hawk's ever and good health for the rest of your days!

Tanner Jannot is worth more than Patrick Kane, let that synch in

As if we didn't already know we are seeing that the market determines the value. If there is only one dance partner you usually end up with an unappealing mate.

Will be rooting for Kaner and for that 2nd rounder to become a first.

The lottery and draft is going to be our Super Bowl for the next 3 years, as the hopeful core candidates become a part of the organization. It will be like watching paint dry but far worse.

Echoing what was said on where did the time go? I agree that on this day it’s bittersweet and tough to realize that the ride with the remaining core is officially over. I’m glad that this is the route we are going down, as that is our best chance to get back to another ride of multiple years of contention. I miss that.

I'll watch some regular season hockey here and there of other teams, but i kind of like these conditional draft picks.

I know some may not like it but I'm definitely rooting for the Leafs to win their 1st round against the Bolts.

Rooting for the Rangers to get to the semi finals for sure.

I'm really looking forward to the Bolts vs Leafs, i imagine that will be one competive series.

every bum of the month gets more than Kane.

Tho, Ekholm is decent but holy balls his contract and he is 33

- Elbows15

Why the return for Ekholm wasn’t better - you nailed it exactly.

Yet I think the return for both Chicago and Nashville could be not worth it. And it isn’t really much to do about the return they received

For Chicago Kane was the lone star player remaining. I hoped that he would be a good example to younger players even just off ice if the prospects could learn all Kane had done to improve his game over the years. I was hoping too for a positive attitude with Domi or someone about Domi’s value returning next season.

I foresee the Rockford forwards recalled plus Reichel as competitive , maybe descent 2nd line talent Guttman and Reichel need to be in that spot with Kane stool on a top line Some semblance of descent existed with Kane and as young dmen filter in..,,,,with oh half a season those dmen cannot be worse than C Jones Murphy Tinordi ( McCabe not as bad as them).

Nashville wants to bring in new dmen, likely prospects on their blue line then it helps so much to have a solid veteran like Ekholm to help break in the newbie.

I say Chicago and Nashville should have been content with their own draft choices plus any other picks they acquire without moving their respective best player. Mid to late first round picks not a tier level higher then maybe the picks in the trades would be desired a whole bunch more

Big names even the lesser names going to Toronto, Edmonton, NYR sure they help make them better But each of those teams don’t play defense too well so maybe coaching the players to be more responsible - at least tweaking the defensive effort - might be the key to moving on to next round. They all have plenty of offense but thee defense remains poorous.

I really think that if Kane had it all his way - he wouldn’t be leaving. He has three championships and other hardware during his career. Now, in his mid-30s, he has a child and a partner - there’s not much incentive for him to pick up and live out of a suitcase for the next three months.

Some folks may disagree - but I believe Kane did the Hawks a favor and agreed to waive his NMC when he didn’t really want to. I wish him nothing but the best - and I’m so incredibly appreciative of his time as a Blackhawk. There will NEVER be another era like what we had the pleasure to enjoy.

Agree with the first part of your post, but don't act like you're not part of the problem. You complain about people complaining about other people complaining, and then act like you have no idea wtf someone just called you on. So in effect you're also telling others how to post.

Like we need more of that.

Why hasn't capfriendly.com updated their site with the Kane trade? They usually update fast. (Maybe the fax machine is jammed, or Uncle Dale forgot how to use it?) Who wears Kane's "A"?

DCat just scored on the PP… after Watson got his face split open by Perron. It’s actually a good game?

Wow very well said .I completely agree all points . I don't mind the return at all either lots of good players come out of the 2nd round. Dunca Keith comes to mind . And where is that arrogant Rag fan who said we would never get a 1st as we probably won't as the Rangers are to weak to get out of the 1st round . Never know I guess go Rangers and Leafs

Sens have some good young players, they just need a little more and a goalie. Brady Katchuk is a stud.

Ottawa physically took it to the Wings last night. Wings came out tonight with some sandpaper but now are being skated out of the rink, 4-1 Sens late in the 1st.

Wings playoff hopes may be on the line here. We'll see how they respond in the 2nd.

You are kidding yourself saying he did it as a favor to the team. He wanted to go to the Rangers and play with Panarin plain and simple. If he wanted to help the Hawks he would have waived to go anywhere. Where someone screwed up. whether it was Kane his agent or GM,was waiting till after Rangers traded for Tarasenko to get serious about making a trade. If they had traded him earlier they would have gotten a 2023 1st plus much more
