Would be a lot better if Holland didn't send Janmark, another prospect, and the 2nd that became Roope Hintz for 11 games of Erik Cole. - Feds91Stammer
That's nuts...no guarantee they would of drafted Hintz but even still...its pretty nuts haha |

Haha of course and that still isn't quite trading the 1st that becomes Vasy for Kyle (frank)ing Quincey, whom you previously lost on waivers. |

So RW just gonna ignore JVRs 7m cap hit? - Feds91Stammer
If they retain 50% and the package going includes McGinn or Blueger, it can work. |

Idk if it would work with Hex and Burke trying for a Lucic - Carter - Reaves 4th line just to make Grinder lose his mind during the deadline. |

Greenway - Carter - Reaves 3rd line you mean.
4th Line would be
Archibald, Poehling, and Craig Adams
with McGinn taking Zuckers spot in the top 6 |

McCabe to TOR....Hex is running out of targets LOL. - sammy87
When I first saw that he and Lafferty fetched a first overall pick, plus other picks and players, I thought that might be a bit much.....but as I looked into it more I discovered that the Hawks are eating half of McCabe's cap hit for the next few years...so they get him for a 2 mill cap hit a year for more years, thats pretty good.
EDIT: McCabe is signed for only one more season, not a few....still pretty good trade though, I think.
EDIT2: it is actually two more seasons for McCabe after this one haha |

It's starting to feel a little like Chychrun might be the target. Don't know why, but seeing the likes of Nino and McCabe getting scooped, there aren't a lot of impactful options left. Wondering if we can swoon AZ into giving us Chychrun, Schmultz, and Vejmelka? |

He needs to punt and trade Dumo and Zucker. It wouldn't be a bad idea to trade Dumo and use the pick/prospect in an attempt for a Chychrun deal. |

I think Hextall is following a similar style to last year with Rakell. He waited it out despite ANA asking for a lot for him and numerous teams interested. Most other teams moved on and that left the Penguins to scoop up Rakell. |

I like the idea of Churchyn...hes young and cheap for a few more years then Letang will be done.
If they could move out a LD and promote Smith all hte better. |

I think those three would be great adds....but that would probably take multiple 1sts...also...that would be 13.175 mill cap hit going the Pens way.....who goes their way to make it work?
Maybe Dumo because he's off the books next season...though I really dont think Hex has a desire to trade him...so thats 4.1 mill....another 9 mill to go.....McGinn are Heinen is another 3.75, i could see maybe Heinen because he's UFA...but McGinn is 2.75 for another few seasons, most teams wont want him like that.
Now that Ive thought about Churchrun going to the Pens it kind of scares me it might be Petts headed out for him....they better not f'n do that.

A big blockbuster with Zona would be good. They have all the things we want, Goalie, defenseman and bottom 6 guys. |

That's actually a variation of what I was thinking. Instead of Jarry using a combination of 1sts and 2nds with Pickering. It would still be tight against the cap, but could work if you could get 1-2 mil in retention and sending Friedman down. |

I'd hate to see Petts go, but if he could be moved for picks or other bottom 6 help, ala Domi, Smith could take over those minutes. That's if Dumo is moved for another LD |

Yeah thats around 13.55 mill ...and besides Jarry a bunch of underperforming almost replacement level spare parts....all of them off the books this summer., besides McGinn..but I really think youre looking at 4 or 5 picks going their way to do this and probably two 1sts amongst them.
Also their goalie is cheap, cost controlled for a few more seasons and good..they get Jarry wanting a big raise...they are a cap floor team
EDIT: I guess maybe they could flip Jarry again for prospects and picks...roll with Ingram. Still though, awful lot of moving parts and I dont think Hex has blockbuster trade in his DNA hahaha |

Petts is the Pens bets defender....like at actual defense...im in no rush to ship him out. I dont think Churchrun is much, if any, better than him and is also a glassman oft injured.
