So if all of this stuff is correct and adds up(still want it to be confirmed), could also be more? Its:
-2023 1st
-2024 Conditional 1st
-Shakir Mukhamadullin
-Fabian Zetterlund
-Nikita Okhotiuk
-Andreas Johnsson.

We'll see when this all gets fully confirmed.

Multiple Devils reporters have confirmed this is the return for the Sharks.

Hope Grier is happy with all of the bargain bin prospects and late firsts he's collected.

I'm assuming the Devils will sign him to an extension.

Some folks will say the players are nothing special, and really they’re not. But he is still a rental at this point after all. I think SJ not letting people talk to Timo’s agent to get an extension as part of the deal hurt the return. Still, the two 1st rd picks are really the biggest loss for NJ. They have to hope they’re late rd picks and they’re betting hard on their system as not having a 1st for next two years could take them out of trading for anyone else significant. All eyes not shift to Bratt

Im incredibly shocked we got the deal done without giving up any of our potential trade targets or anything super important off the roster. Totally fine giving up multiple 1sts, especially if the team can be as good as we expect and the picks are later in the round. Definitely sucks giving up Zetterlund, but i couldnt care less about Mukhamadullin/Okhotiuk and obviously Johnsson was a cap dump lol. I was never high on Muk from the start and Okhotiuk is nothing more than a bottom pair D at best, which you can find every offseason in free agency.

At this point I wouldn’t be surprised to see either Holtz or Bratt moved (if Bratt is hellbent on not resigning). After the draft capital they just moved they should try to get something, but they’re clearly going all in on a deep playoff run this year…guess we’ll see how it plays out. Holtz has yet to show much. Could also argue he hasn’t been given much a shot either to be fair. I think losing Bratt is big. He has legitimate chemistry. I really hope they get it done.

Grier almost played his cards as badly as possible. You have to think that one of young roster player (zetts/boqvist), a pretty solid prospect and a 1st was an offer on the table at some point.

I suppose he gets the second 1st round pick (we don't know the conditions yet) but if you're looking where the Devils are likely going to be in the standings next season this is a middling pick at best.

Bratt isnt going anywhere. He knows what he has with this team is special. Bratt always said he wants to stay. And dont forget, Nieds/Elias and I think Marty all had "tough" contract talks and it worked out. Im not worried.

Shakir had a lot of young D-men in front of him in the next few years. He wasn't going to see NHL ice with the Devils for 3-4 years.

Now they need to trade for Korpisalo from CLB or Lankinen from Nashville to backup V.V.

Great job Tom Fitzgerald. Now work with Timo's agent (Claude Lemieux) to get the extension done.

I’m assuming the condition is meier re-signing but it could also likely be making the conference final or cup

It’s a great move for sure but they’ll still be swept first round unless they bring in puljujarvi

The depth took a hit today, but we're a better team because of it. There are no awards for "most depth" and if you don't weaponize your depth to take advantage of a Meier like situation, what is the point of having it?

I like Ohotiuk, Mukhamadullin, and Zetterlund but their departure is not impactful to the current lineup. With Luke and Simon waiting in the wings and Bahl making strides neither of the D prospects were locks to ever be regulars in NJ. Zetterlund hurts cause he is a gritty, physical 3rd line type that has the ability to develop into a 15-20 goal guy.

Losing first rounders is never fun, but we're young, deep, and we can afford to take a little hit on top tier prospects for a couple of year.

Overall, i love it IF Timo signs an extension.

Conditions on the 2024 pick: The Devils must reach the conference finals in 2023 or 2024, and Timo Meier plays in 50% of the games in 2023, then it will become a top 10 lottery protected 2024 1st. If the conditions are not met, the pick will be a 2024 2nd.

CapFriendly shows we have $2,085,834 in space now so room for Fitz to keep tinkering with the lineup too which is huge.

Jesus. No wonder it took so long to finalize. Had to confirm 18 times which players were moving to which team and probably had to google how to spell their names.

Definitely some room to make a depth move or two(depending on if we send any salary out again) to bolster the bottom 6. Wonder if Fitz is looking into anything else prior to Friday.
