I think you've nailed it buddy. I've always said that I like the player but the problem was that he was a LD and they didn't need a LD because they already had Sanderson and Chabot. I'd be very surprised if Dorion doesn't dump Chabot so that he can give DeBrincat big money. Trouble is some Sens fans would probably cheer such a move.

Maybe I'm completely off base and it turns out one of those three can play the right side very well, then you have a pretty imposing Dcore, maybe the best in the league. Wouldn't that be fun; and then you still have JBD and Kleven coming for your third pairing in the not too distant future.

Trouble is I just don't trust Dorion and I've got a little voice in my head whispering "WATCH OUT!" Another part of me is praying "PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE LET THIS MEAN THEY DON'T SIGN DEBRINCAT".

ps: So sweet watching the Oilers smack down TO last night.

Chychrun has played LD and RD for Arizona just so ya know the man can play both side
Which is great and for the term he has its perfect 👍

The Senators just signed Dylan Ferguson to bolster their AHL goaltending depth. That suggests pretty strongly that Talbot won't be traded, and that Sogaard will being playing the rest of the year in the NHL as the #1B.

It's hardly infallible, but dailyfaceoff.com has Sanderson-Chychrun as the debut pairing for tonight's lineup, with the same 2 playing together on the #2PP unit.

Nobody signed up for this one, but I'll take it - have something about 2/3 ready, and should be up later this morning (Pacific time).

FYI - it's been submitted to HB... might take an hour or two to post, or whenever they get a chance to do it. I'm sure there's a lot of traffic, given the ridiculous nature of this trade deadline.

It's really interesting to see that WSH/DET are effectively dropping out of the playoff race with some of their major recent trades... while FLA has done nothing to make their team better. It really just leaves PIT, NYI, BUF, and OTT to punch it out for the final 2 spots, which is very different scenario from the 7-team melee it once appeared to be. If they can find a legitimate bottom-6 upgrade it could be quite an interesting run. Can't help wonder if someone like Nick Bjugstad (ARI) or Derek Grant (ANA) might be a potential target.
