Calgary and Florida, especially if guys like Lindholm or Barkov can be available.
- TheUltimateJet

Yea Florida guys for sure if they're selling.

Not sure the Flames are selling, but would be nice so that we can be guaranteed a playoff spot. What the hell ever happened to Jomathan Huberdeau? Sutter?

Off on road trip soon, so if any Jet trades, guess when they'll happen!

Andy Strickland is reporting Stanley has requested a trade.

Also hearing from one of the local media guys that both Stanley and Helle were smashing their sticks at practice yesterday in unrelated incidents and Helle politely declined a request for an interview.

Wow. What a sh$&show.

Fringe nhlers want out of here as well.

Wake up Chipman before you start a save the jets rally.

I thought no team could fall as hard as ottawa did after their run years ago but the True North organization has proved me wrong.

Stanley was most likely smashing his stick because he read Ross77's exuberant post about how happy he was about the possibility of Stanley getting moved.

Hellebyuck was smashing his stick because he has been the main reason the team is where it's at and being underappreciated for it! #firechevy

Hellebuyck was mad because Adam Lowry scored a goal on him in practice, becoming the first goaltender to give up a goal to him since December 11

heard another Draft stat today and why its important to not overvalue your picks. from 2004 - 2015 draft ( 10 drafts ) Only 40 players give or take, have played 350 NHL games. only 40!!!!!!
so what does this teach us!!

stop critiquing the Jets drafting after round 1, no one is good at it, and most importantly!!! Draft Picks are the most over valued possession in hockey

This stat came from Craig button, I have a hard time believing it’s only 40 but passing along what he said

- Ross77

Yeah Ross I'm at 2005 with still 8 years to go and have passed 50 guys with over 350 games.

Ya it sounded off to me, the clip is on TSN if anyone wants to go see where he said this, i went back and listened again, my bad, he meant 40 guys per draft on average, not 40 total for the 10 years, but only 40 guys per draft

You can count on Chevy hitting on all of the Jets 1st round lottery picks, problem is that means they keep missing the playoffs.

This sounds more accurate just based on replacement theory and age. Give or take at any one time there are about 725 roster spots which vary due to injuries, etc. The average career length in the NHL is 4.5 years. The top 25% play an average 12 years.

So just in an average year one would think that even more than 40 roster spots overall might open up or just under two per team. Most of those players would likely come from the first two rounds.

Hence there is value in high picks, especially in the first round . Those top 25% who will have long careers will likely come from the top 10 or so picks. Hence GM's will trade their first-round picks but make them conditionally top 10 protected. Method to the madness.

As a franchise the Jets cannot draft like other teams. I keep hearing about how the Jets are handcuffed by other factors and as such should be better at drafting than all other teams.

Brian Burke predicted back in 2011 2.0 would fail. It pee'd me off when he said it but hope it doesn't come true......

The Jets have many revenue streams and they are not going anywhere.

I think management has not honoured the fan base to show that it is willing to make BIG moves when they are in a position to contend. Not arming up early has cost this team big time. I think morale in the room is low and rather than improve this team, Chevelallseasonoff just sat back and began giving himself a pat on the back.

Furthermore Jets 1.0 is not doing much better than we are.

I have no doubt that there will be some type of significant player or two coming our way before the deadline. It may not be the superstar player we were all expecting but possibly a D-man that can play a top four role and a fill in forward. Ideally it would be Schmaltz ,JVR or at Henrique at forward and maybe a Klinberg, Shattenkirk, Montour, Tanev or similar on D.

Yes, but in Buffalo there is nothing better to do than eat chicken wings and post comments , so everyone in the city lights up the thier board with comments on the Sabres and Bills. Its 2200 ++ and going.

Good thing you didn't mention Domi cuz he is going to Dallas for a for minor-league goaltender Dylan Wells and a 2025 second-round draft pick

Adam Lowry has a career best 15 goals and 29 points that occurred 6 years ago.
He's about to be the 2c for the second game in a row thanks to a PLD injury. If that doesn't scare Chevy into making a move nothing will.

By my take, there is really only the Pens, Jets, and possibly Kraken/ Kings left to fight for the scraps and there are some are still reasonably big names left (if available). We can see by the Domi deal it's starting to turn into a buyer's market at this stage. I don't think at this stage we will see much more in the way of 1st rnd picks or top prospects getting traded unless it's a guy with serious term like Schmaltz.

- Flyers- JVR is a sure bet to get traded to someone, Provorov
- Sabres - might turn into sellers - Okposo
- Flames - might turn into sellers. ( several possible players with 1 yr left)
- Panthers- should see them do another deal
- Habs - Drouin ? , Edmundson (inj) ), Monahan
- Yotes - Ritchie , Schmaltz ? , Crouse ?
- Caps - Sheary
- Ducks - Klingberg , Shatt , Kulikov, Silfverberg, Henrique (inj)
- Blues - Parayko ?
- Nucks - Boesser
- Hawks - Athanasiou

My favorites for fit & term would be Schmatlz and/or Provorov. Okposo if he was cheap enough ( UFA), Silfverberg if available, Parayko is a gamble for a contract perspective but the Jets would be a much better team with him back there on D
