Its just amazing and envious to see Dubas wheel and deal like Rutherford.... a true horse trader. Recoups a 1st with Sandin going out......

I am envious of a GM that actually swings deal.... we seem only to be able to add... I tip my hat to these horse traders....

Nico Sturm would be a good 4th line C to get.
Scott Laughton would be pretty good to play the third line.

But I think Chevy is probably done. All he has left to trade is 3rd round picks. I'd be shocked if he trades a first round pick or any of his prospects

- BWJumper

Yeah those two would definitely help.
I've been wondering what Oskar Sundqvist would cost from the Wings though they're still kinda in the playoff race.

If there's some decent players moved for 3rd-7th round picks and Chevy isn't in on some of them I'll be irritated.

No thanks to $10M over next 7 years. Barkov has not lived up to those expectations already . He will be another Wheeler contract in 3-4 years.

Anyone signing 7-8 year deals at age 29-30 wil be like wheeler in 3-4 years.

Barkov is 27, they'll be fine and he's worth that contract, cant imagine he'd be available, Idk where Ultimate is hearing this cause I haven't read/seen/heard anything about Florida being willing to move Barkov.

Jets are like a different team tonight. Skating harder, playing more aggressively, and the boys on the third and fourth lines are playing their hearts out. Nice to see them get rewarded so far for what has been an excellent effort !

...and Morrissey is Morrissey !

One period to go

Yep, a bit fat -2 for Ehlers. Can we just sit Pionk already? The guy is a liability on almost every shift. Heck , I'd rather have Stanley in there than Pionk.

Tough loss. This is one game the Jets deserved better.

Does anyone ever remember this many deals and MAJOR DEALS into a trade deadline ? I think while this year may or may not set the record for the number of deals it would definitely set a record for the quality of players that have moved around.

Dubas has practically changed half his team. Amazing! The best trade by anyone overall IMHO so far was the ROR deal.

The Jets in no way compare to the Eastern Conference powerhouse teams.

Toronto did quite well in that McCabe trade too, surprised to see them trade Sandin today.

What was Samberg doing on that 5th goal by the Kings, what a lazy defensive play and then he fell over when Vilardi walked past him, he's better then Stanley but that isn't saying much.

Such a mediocre D core, doesn't look anything like a championship caliber defense.

So Neideriter gets a standing O at the start of the game and then another when he hit the LA player. Its like holy f--K, when was last time one of these Jet players hit someone like that, clean or not clean. I luved it!!

If this is not a cry from the fans to mgmt to do something in terms of making player changes, add, delete, etc, I don't know what is. The fans are hungry for some new blood to augment the roster Mr. Chipman. Wake up and smell the coffee.

I would trade Ehlers if you could get a 1st. I feel sorry for him, he had a couple of decent shifts and looked OK in the OT where its just chaos and no real play structure and there is lots of ice so he can free wheel, but other than that, he was lost again. I hope he is included in some deal as if they make playoffs, he is only good for .378 pp/g and a -ve +-. Dubas would have traded him by now.

I am sorry but if they can get something for him, inlcude him in a deal.

With the Jets sitting in the last wild card spot there is no way Chevy will be trading for any expensive UFA that remains. Its term all the way on any big deal he makes.

Also head Eric Karlsson say he's happy in SJ and has not been asked about being traded ( he has a full NTC) . So strike him off your list b/c I highly doubt he's going anywhere.

And I highly doubt he would trade a roster player with term like Pionk / Ehlers to improve the team as a contract with term in Wpg is like a marriage contract until the end of the term, for good or for worse, till death do us part.

That MO certainly restricts opportunity and does not allow for any thinking outside the box. Such a short sighted and limiting way of doing business.

Is what I don't understand is that Chipman is a car dealer, an essential horse trader, the pinnacle of swapping and turning inventory. Be it 2 turns of new inventory per year etc, whatever this is how a car dealership operates.

Car dealers turn inventory like changing your shorts daily. It flows in the blood. Yet what I don't understand why they chose to apply the Montreal Expos business model?

Don't get me wrong, who am I to criticize a man who paid 175 m US for a team that is now worth 500 m, but I wonder why not activate those horse trading car dealer skills and apply them?

Ehlers was looking ok in the OT, we had zone control and movement then he took a low percentage shot from the blueline and gave the puck away ending all momentum.

His play lacks structure, however, the skillset is for real. I would staple him on the third line with Lowry and turn him loose to play how he feels. Linemates don't make a difference to what he brings, anyone he is with will see a bump in offense at a similar level. Jets can maximize his potential if he gets similar amount of playing time with Lowry, continues getting 2nd line PP where his zone entries are excellent and gets late game time when we are down a goal or two.

Ehlers needs two linemates who can skate and will go to the net.

Hahaha 🤣

Good gawd these Ehlers takes are hilariously bad.

Yes let's put the almost point per game player and one of the four top six forwards we have who's in a bit of a slump with an offensive black hole 4th liner who's played above his abilities on the 3rd line, maybe let's put Kuhlman on the right side to really complete the line... 😆

And with Lowry in OT too.. lol.. Seriously why is Lowry even on the ice in OT, he's such a slow skater, Stenlund would be a better choice and a coach with a brain would play the hot hand more which Stenlund was last night.

agree, do fans even realize our power play is most successful with 27 on it, over every single other player!!! yes, 55 and 81 as well!!! 27 should never be off our top unit if you want it to be as successful as possible.

Just putting this out there.

Why not trade PLD now.
Best season ever
Will not sign with the jets
Will be an UFA after next season and when the jets trade him at the deadline next year the return will be very, very poor compared to what the return would be today.

I get that he is needed for a playoff run but can’t see much happening when we match up against anyone in the west this year. Unless Helly stands on his head for 10 games in the playoffs.

the better trade is Pionk, teams are ridiculously over paying for a D right now!!!

trade a first, Stanley and McGoarity to ARI for Chychrun and one of Bjudstead or Schmaltz then flip Pionk to Ottawa, who, yes!!! i absolutely believe would give us a first rounder for him.
