You being judged or disliked has nothing to do with you being a MOD.

You’re a leaf fan. The only people who tolerate leaf fans are other leaf fans.

- bloatedmosquito

I don't care if you dislike me for being a leaf fan. Doesn't bother me as plenty of posts have been negative towards the leafs here and it's whatever. It's a canucks fans place to complain about Toronto or any other team.

Here’s the headline on Sportsnet’s home page…

Hockey world stunned as Maple Leafs swing three trades in one hour

Holy poop. they make a few mediocre trades and need Sportsnet to spin it.

They aren't even THAT big of trades. Sandin was a surprise more then the others. Ekholm is MUCH bigger and Kane is too in name only. His return was soft.

I actually think Boeser is a decent trade for the penguins. Someone with term. They decided to re-sign their older guys in the off season so either you gotta trade them now or continue to try to compete with them. Riding the fence is no good for them here.

Hey, I was trying to reply to VHG message there.

Sandin can't defend the rush I hear anyways. I never ever watch Toronto because they don't know Marner is their best player not Matthews.

I think there are the right and wrong time to do things. Boeser has sucked for half this season and would still be 4th or 5th highest PPG player on every team that was trading for him.

Other GM's know that Vancouver players are talented but they can't play together which makes them much worse than they actually are.

Sandin lacks some defensive skills HOWEVER he's still young enough to maybe figure it out and get better. On a cheap two year deal and the capitals don't have anyone not named Carlson signed on the back end next year. Makes sense. To get a 1st for him was pretty solid in my opinion.

I think I said it here awhile ago, that the canucks are kind of like the leafs when Kessel was with them. He is not a bad player, nor was Phaneuf/Kadri, JVR but collectively were terrible. It was time to move them out and try again.

Canucks seem to come to that conclusion too. Horvat/Boeser, Miller maybe?

I know you’ve heard this a million times but it’s this type of obnoxious spin from our national sports broadcaster that drives non-leaf fans nuts. Boston, NYR, and NJ have done much more, yet you don’t see “Hockey World Shocked…” type headline for those moves.

Hence why folks try to troll any leaf fan, including you. Need to counter all of the malarkey.

yeah I gets it. My friend isn't a hockey fan and can't stand how much TSN posts hockey stuff on the front page of the site. He prefers MLB.

the intriguing part is how he evaluates the draft picks he sent away.

“I know there’s a perceived value of those picks. But we have a really good idea of what the actual value of those picks are. Individually, you can go, ‘What’s that first-round pick worth? What’s the second-round pick?’ And so forth and so on,” BriseBois said.

“When we look at what that’s worth to us, based on the odds of those picks turning into good NHL players down the road, I’d rather have the good player right now for this season and next year and help this group win right now,”

BriseBois continued. “Because I know what the odds are of those picks turning into players, I also know what the odds are of those picks turning into players that can help us win while we have this group of players right now in their prime, ready to go for another long run. The odds of that are zero. None of those picks were going to help. None of the players we were going to draft with those picks are going to help us win this year, or next, or probably the year after that. So when you put it into that context and you frame it that way, it ends up being a pretty easy decision actually.”

Little bit of context from the Athletic.

I saw those comments by Brisbois. I still like getting a first round pick back. Means Dubas can make another move in the same vein as JB said.

Or he believes he will get an extension and will want another prospect for the future.

It’s not hockey stuff, it’s leaf stuff. Hence the issue. You can’t see it because you’re being spoon fed all the junk food you could possibly desire.
