Yeah but I'd rather have Suzuki too

Even if he does have a blindspot in one eye after it got basically gouged out last year.

Well you at asked what we want, not what you guys want.😁

Canucks fans are used of players with some blindness, see Mattias Ohlund and Manny Malhotra

Drury is probably the 5C right now but he's also older than the other guys.

Suzuki and Ponomaryov have more value and have probably leapfrogged Drury in the pecking order. Rees is going to play wing at the NHL level and is probably there right now if they hadn't committed to keeping Stepan around the club.

- BINGO!

I'd take Drury back for Garland then. Not sure if that's equal value, but center around that and it'd be a nice return. Though I still think JTM would be a better swing for Carolina (not just because I want JTM traded, but because I think he'd have a much bigger impact on Carolina's playoff runs than Garland would.. I feel JTM is the kind of player who could take over a series, and Garland is just run support)

Canes aren't going to sign Pesce to an extension at age 30, they're certainly not going to trade for JT Miller to pay him until he's 38.

It's just not the sort of thing they're interested in.

UPDATE: The Detroit #RedWings today signed defenseman Jake Walman to a three-year contract extension with an average annual value of $3.4 million.

Steve Y loving that cap space to pay depth D 3M plus per season.

Ya, I understand (and appreciate) their philosophy for sure.. but you have to wonder how long they can go without making a splash and acquiring an impact player. They're perennially REALLY good but don't seem like they have someone to get them over that hump. Meier would have been perfect, but not sure how many more Meier-type players are out there and available.

Just a reminder, no leash for posts breaking the CoC on deadline day. You'll quickly get a timeout and be watching the discussion from the sidelines for a little while.

Dunno.

It's kind of a weird dynamic where the owner is hyper-aggressive but the assistant GM keeps talking him out of stuff.

I don't think the Canucks are moving Garland. Boeser I can see. I think they like mostly what is happening with scoring. Even with Miller out they put up a good number of goals against a top ten GA team.

Friedman suggesting Kane might be traded after 5 pm EST today so it counts against Wed cap. Might affect Canucks

We know they have been talking. Maybe came up with the Kratsov side deal while waiting for cap reasons.

Spicy update here from
@DarrenDreger
.
I think Gavrikov is Plan C for the Oil and yet probably the easiest deal to get done compared to Chychrun/Ekholm.
Generally speaking, heard the Preds told teams last week that the asking price started with 2 first-round picks on Ekholm...

33 years old in May and signed for 3 more years and they want 2-1st for him

If we move Miller, we can afford to hold on to Boeser and hope he can up his value moving forward. If not, oh well its not going to hurt the team at this time. I think his scoring touch will resurface again.
