Not sure if you talked about the Bloom trade or not, but he is a nice player. Managed to watch a few of his games over last couple seasons, kid likes to drive hard to the net, decent on both special teams and a bit of physicality.
Much rather have Bloom than VHG's boy Stillman.

- Reubenkincade

That's correct.

After watching some Bloom highlights. Makes me think Charlie Coyle type player.

Biggest question is where does he fit in the Canucks prospect pool? Does he become the teams 2nd best prospect

Quick thoughts on Josh Bloom - now with Vancouver

• Plus-rated skater. He moves very well for a bigger guy.
• Strong release
• Decent hands
• Good size
• Gets to the net
• Has improved his game substantially in the last 2 seasons

I like it.

I'll add, he's also a *very* capable penalty killer.

This is a versatile forward with a realistic NHL upside.

Sure makes that 2nd rounder they attached to Richardenson to get Stillman a little less painful to swallow.

Looks like Adams gave Vancouver the Family and Friends discount for Stillman.

Yeah, future considerations would have been appropriate value for Stillman.

Bloom so far down the prospect depth chart and years away still though.

Anton Malmstrom Garnering NHL Interest

Bally Sports Midwest’s Andy Strickland. After attending St. Louis Blues development camp last summer, Strickland says they remain the front-runner to sign him.

Malmstrom also participated in the Boston Bruins development camp in 2021.

Hopefully Canucks have interest.

The Nashville Predators aren’t just selling at the deadline. Last night they made a smaller deal to acquire Isaac Ratcliffe from the Philadelphia Flyers in exchange for future considerations.

Lefty loved that pick.

No golf today, taking care of business banking stuff. Tomorrow at 1:12PM.

Just bought a new set of Titleist T100S irons. Gonna give them a spin.

Wow nice. Let us know how they roll. No major equipment changes this year. Need a new bag and shoes but that's all easy lol

Is it because he is Swedish? I realize he is 6'4, but he doesn't appear to be much of a player, have you seen him play?

Yes, only because he is Swedish.

To find highlights, I had to search the teams they played against and see if the other team had highlights.

He looks like Brian Dumoulin, all defence, forget offence.

Seemed pretty mobile for a big guy.

I've seen Canucks have interest in Malinski from Cornell. Smaller defender but man in all the highlights a real lack of acceleration from weak ankles.

I'm not sure what value you attach to Carolina prospects – what sort of value do Rees and Suzuki have?

I think Garland would probably fit well with Carolina (feisty, good advanced stats, etc), but from the articles I've read Carolina needs more of an offensive game-breaker, and Garland isn't that. He's a solid contributor, all in all.

Rees is penciled in for and NHl spot next season. Suzuki probably not.

More likely to give up Jack Drury than Suzuki if you want a guy around that tier.

And Canes want to upgrade on D too, so they're thinking Garland for the 3rd/4th line and then Gostisbehere for the bottom pair/PP specialist.

I doubt Garland would fetch whichever the top 2 are. I assume his value is around a 2nd or two, but I have no freaking clue... there hasn't been much chatter around him/what he would go for.

Interesting you list them that way.. Wheeler (take it for what you will) has them ordered Drury, Rees, then Suzuki for centers.

Drury is probably the 5C right now but he's also older than the other guys.

Suzuki and Ponomaryov have more value and have probably leapfrogged Drury in the pecking order. Rees is going to play wing at the NHL level and is probably there right now if they hadn't committed to keeping Stepan around the club.

You guys keep Drury, rather have Suzuki. Lefty and Nucker think Drury is a good player, so you know he is garbage.

Yeah but I'd rather have Suzuki too

Even if he does have a blindspot in one eye after it got basically gouged out last year.
