Keeping Holl definitely makes sense if Dubas is only out to acquire 1 more D.

I would just like to think he knows that an upgrade is needed on both sides, and going into the playoffs with guys playing too far up the line up and obviously out of their skill level hasn't worked well for us thus far.

Also, I think he should do everything he can to get something back this year for a few redundant UFAs. The cupboards are a little bare when it comes to picks.

He should trade Kerfoot for picks/prospects. Not a knock on him. I like him and his play but he's redundant and a good player to recoup some assets with. So are Engvall and Holl...especially if he adds a good grit/PKer like Jeannot.

But again, if Dubas is only adding one player then keep them all, take the run and let them walk in the summer.

As for hockey I do get what you’re saying but this is a team that doesn’t consider itself simply playoff bound but as a cup contender…. Meaning no sales for picks/prospects will be made… for that reason anyways. They may do it to gain cap space for another deal but right now the vets, even the bottom pairing and bottom six guys, are far more valuable to the team than picks/prospects.

I’m hoping like hell Dubas is right, I don’t see it that clearly but I’m also no gambler and I’m beginning to think that if you’re not a gambler you will fail as a GM

If I had to guess I’d say Dubas has a bunch of possible moves to make one more upgrade to bring either a forward or defenceman. What can he do to improve the team at a price he’s willing to pay. With the Benn move he’s got $2M after bringing Murray back plus any $ going out. I’d also guess that unless he needs more $, Engvall goes before Kerfoot. That 4th line is rocking and I think the 3rd is the potential weak link against TBL

Agreed on that regarding the forwards… I’d say atm the 3rd line is the weakest yet only compared to the other three… in the NHL that’s actually one hell of a third line.

I’m very curious to see what happens in the next few days… I’m guessing the Dubas has some targets but if he doesn’t land the type of skill set he’s looking for, at a price that’s at least close to what he’s willing to pay, I won’t be shocked if nothing happens at all.

I don’t trust the media at all lol… of course they’re saying they don’t think the leafs are done because if they did they’d lose a massive amount of attention during the month leading up to the deadline which is the point annually they get the most attention.

EDIT:

I do got a new keyboard that's pissing me off, though.

I had my old one that I used for like, over 6 years, and this one is much bigger. So I'm hitting the wrong key quite a lot. Doing way too much backtracking and correcting my words.

Also, the scroll on my old mouse didn't work for like, 5 years. And now I got one that actually works. Love it so much.
