Trade Holl, hoping for a asset back instead of letting him walk.
Use the new acquisition on D to cover his iffy PK ability. Which is why I would prefer a Stay at Home D who can PK and not Chychrun.
I only want Schenn throwing hits on the bottom pairing with Gio. If he can handle the PK too, cool, but I would expect Keefe to be the judge of that.
Hope you're doing okay Dozzer, back read that you're in the hospital for tests and stuff. Bent not broken brother! - underhill14
Nah, even if he’s the 7th or 8th keep Holl because if there is an injury to a shut down rightie you’re going to be happy Dubas kept him.
As for the PK I know Schenn can play it but considering Vancouver’s PK is currently 32nd that makes me have a question mark.
Also the hospital is going well, today they’ve determined I might have two different kinds of epilepsy after I told them about how sometimes I feel like I stood up too quick even tho I hadn’t. That’s a day to day 10-15 seconds and happened as long as I can remember (back to childhood).
It might mean I need something permanently installed into my chest but it is the kind of thing known to get someone like me under control and back at living life

Just saw something about a OAN reporter getting drag for using that expression.
I'll let it slide for you because using it on these hockey boards, on this site full of idiots like us has such a nice juxtaposition to it. - underhill14

Hey man, whatever works to keep you moving and out of the hospital, right?!
Hope they get it figured out for you brother. Sending good vibes!
Keeping Holl definitely makes sense if Dubas is only out to acquire 1 more D.
I would just like to think he knows that an upgrade is needed on both sides, and going into the playoffs with guys playing too far up the line up and obviously out of their skill level hasn't worked well for us thus far.
Also, I think he should do everything he can to get something back this year for a few redundant UFAs. The cupboards are a little bare when it comes to picks.
He should trade Kerfoot for picks/prospects. Not a knock on him. I like him and his play but he's redundant and a good player to recoup some assets with. So are Engvall and Holl...especially if he adds a good grit/PKer like Jeannot.
But again, if Dubas is only adding one player then keep them all, take the run and let them walk in the summer.

It's an excellent trade for the Jets - he has another year left, makes $4m, and is a big solid guy who plays that way, and executes to the tune of 20 goals / year just about every year. He very much plays the style the Jets like.

If I had to guess I’d say Dubas has a bunch of possible moves to make one more upgrade to bring either a forward or defenceman. What can he do to improve the team at a price he’s willing to pay. With the Benn move he’s got $2M after bringing Murray back plus any $ going out. I’d also guess that unless he needs more $, Engvall goes before Kerfoot. That 4th line is rocking and I think the 3rd is the potential weak link against TBL

Its a good pick up for them - Aaron_85
I don't know. I always liked Kapanen - but if you look at his game, he has become more and more of a perimeter player with less and less drive towards the net - long harmless low danger shots and very few high danger chances. His shooting percentage has dropped to 5% - but his underlying numbers - low danger shots, few high danger shots . . .they're not good.
Like, out of 355 players who have played more than 400 minutes this year, Kapanen is 326th in iHDCF - meaning he is not getting any HD chances - his rate is 2.17 per 60, but if you look at his last 4 years, it has declined 4.18, 2.47 (last with TOR), 2.03, 2.58 . . . to this year's 2.17. His individual Corsi For events rank 188th - which, to me, means that he's throwing the puck on-net from poor locations with low chances of scoring.
This was habit we saw in Kapanen in his first year - "poor shot selection" was the tag - but really it's lazy play.
I was wondering about re-acquiring him, but then was looking at those numbers and thought . . .you know, maybe it's better we moved on afterall.

I mean the blues are retooling. Have some cap space. He is only signed for 1 more year and they got him for free. Worth the chance for the blues.

Let’s hurry up and do a deal for Ekholm before Poile finds out who took his phone.
