No we wanted better than we had.

He’s not that.

Gotta be specific next time. These trades are like genie wishes, any loophole and you get Stillman

Maybe Bloom isn’t a solid prospect in other gm eyes …and no value in packaging into a larger deal. Some on here I recall including him in chickenman package proposals. Fwiw, saw him play last week, isolated viewing on him and he didn’t do anything special…one game sample size is meaningless.

On the other hand, buddy I have went to scout one of his games and said he was by far the best player on the ice. Probably somewhere between nothing and something.

Still writing through, so the full story won't be up for a bit.

One quick note: Riley Stillman averaged 18:08 of ice time over his final nine games with the Canucks. They were outscored 10-3 with him on the ice in 5-on-5 situations during that span.

I know the Canucks are bad but that is...

Anyone know a comparable sample size with Bryson/Clague?

He's a Defensive Dman that hits and can play PK. He's what people have been calling for on here a 3LD

Look at that we add toughness and people cry

I thought that is what people here wanted

When he says he going to build it the "right" way I read 7/8 defenseman at the deadline and nothing else. Comrie and UPL next season. Am I wrong?

I think they are trying to balance that with also saying look we have a real shot right now and that matters. I'm on record saying I don't fault UPL for what has happened this season, but if you bring in another guy and he can be your top guy for the next 20 games and you need to move a guy down, UPL is that guy. He's a rookie, rookies go to Rochester sometimes. It's not them giving up on him, it's them saying look take what you've learned and keep growing, you'll be back soon enough. If they do it, it's not the worst thing in the world.

That said, if they trade away Anderson I don't know if there's a point to sending him down. You only do that if you need the roster spot

Someone posted the Sabres were increasing the season tickets by 9-10%.

Just got my email, uppers going from 1408 to 1452 (basically $1 a game ) 3.125%

Lowers going up 5.7% in my section / row.
(Little over $3 per ticket per game)

These are early renewal prices. They go up substantially more after march some time.

Considering the product went from a 2 to a 8.5.
Not bad

The Riley Stillman move is likely the equivalent of the Tyson Jost move but on defense. A lot of the Sabres in-season moves have been based on schematic fits rather than public RAPM charts

If this makes it possible that Joker gets moved, and we don't see Bryson ever again I will be okay with it.

Dahlin Chicken Power Samuelsson in the top 4

Boosh and then Stillman/Clauge rotate I can live with that

Roster spot is irrelevant after Friday. You send him down if he's not going to being playing regularly here.

You may even send him down right now (or at just transact him down) to make room until then with the trade.

(shrug) from what I saw from the stats guys on twitter it sounds like they may have liked what he did a couple of years ago in Florida. They brought in a lottery ticket - I don't see any reason to get our panties in a jumble. This won't be the last move.

On the one hand, I just watched him get whipped by Trouba and Foligno. On the other hand, I just watched him line up at wing on a draw to start a fight with Foligno, and he called out Trouba. He's got brass ones.

Fills one of my needs.

Why would they trade a decent prospect for a guy that they'll then buy out after the season.

Not often do you see teams losing a prospect to then lose dollars in a buyout too.

Canucks fans loved the guy:

>>> Stillman was god awful under Bruce and barely a #7 under Tocchet. I often said I would pay to get rid of him. Not having him on the books next year (and crowding out much better players) is a massive win for us.
