Meier to Devils close.

Thank god the Sabres dodged the bullet of getting a really good player in his prime

- sbroads24

There will be another Meier next year though. There always is.

Although I saw a thing on Facebook about the top scorers from the 2015 draft and Meier was like number 8 or 9 and Eichel wasn’t even on it. Lol

No extension on Meier as a part of the trade.
- ImThatGuy

He said last night on Sportsnet that he would not sign one.

Fully aware that you comment in jest.

That said, many have that actual opinion, to which I say: chicken man is under contract for 2.5 more years. It's the perfect scenario.

Get the damn chicken man!

Chychrun without losing a roster player locks up a playoff spot for us

You can have anyone form Arizona if you give a 1st this year and a player. Not good business if you ask me, how much longer can you keep doing this.

It's very true, teams are selling there souls for players, wait until next year and the teams that don't win what will happen.

So they would want Quinn or Peterka?

I wouldn't give up the Sabres 23 1st round pick for any player that has been reported as available, no matter where that pick lands in the first round.

The Sabres have made 5 first-round selections in two years and their top-6 is likely set for the next 3 years maybe even without those players.

I'd move the pick in a heartbeat

Let's remember 1 thing, Armstrong the gm of the Yotes is acting like Chychrun is Ray Bourque. Only reason is his contract, cheap and term.

Vinnie and Quinn were perfect in their roles today. That was seamless. If the Sabres do make a deadline move for a depth defenseman, I would expect Asplund to be part of the package. Vinnie is just a better fit for the team

I’ve always liked hino. I know he wasn’t great this year. But always likes his speed

I’d move it out of principle to be honest. Don’t even need a player in return.

There will be another NHL season next year too. I’m still living in this current one though, as should everyone else including Kevyn Adams

They can have Ostlund and a (top-5 protected) 2023 first, Jokiharju

Or

2024 first (top-10 protected), two 2023 2nds and Bryson

Honestly I'd be shocked if the inevitable deal beats either of those

The package to get Meier is going to be so ridiculously mid it’s going to be the equivalent of like Rosen, Kisakov and a protected 1st and I’m going to get irrationally mad

Heck of a statement game by Cozens and Power today. Time for GMKA to step up like the team has this year.

I wouldn't give up Ostlund for Chychrun.

Ostlund is the leading scorer for 18 year olds in that league. He is impressive.

Would rather give up 1st and 2 2nds.

No problem giving up a first if the guy is a sabre for the next 8 years

Me too and I think whatever package he inevitably gets will equate to that. Players almost always get less than expected- see: Eichel, Jack.

The "price" was 4 first-round equivalent pieces. They got three and a 2nd rounder while giving up a third rounder.

I hope they atleast had to include Mercer or Holtz. If neither one of those players were involved, the Sabres missed

I am hoping its Nemec going the other way. That will hurt.
