More... Very hesitant to move a premium asset for a rental. If a premium asset is moved it will be for a player that can help them beyond this season.
- madmike71

I'm ok with that, but what can he really do haha. He (frank)ed himself with the Kap signing

Geez…I don’t know how you improve this team without getting rid of the deadweight which is the 3rd line.

Grab a guy like Meier. Drop Zucker to the 3rd line. Then try to get Domi or a 3rd line center with a pulse. But now you’re severely overpaying to dump Carter and Kap, which IMO isn’t worth it.

I like the McCabe idea. But damn, if you’re already spending the assets to fix your 3rd line, what’s left for defense. I just feel like there’s too many holes to fix at the deadline. If there’s a deal that will help the team for next year as well, then definitely take it, but I’d stay away from any rentals

This is how I know a lot of you still haven't come to terms with reality.

Yeah. This is true. You could hand pick a bottom six and the core still isn’t good enough. Unless you get some top tier wingers in to play with Sid and Geno, it doesn’t matter what moves are made.
- Grinder47

This is just false, if we could hand pick our bottom 6 we would be a contender.

Ok. I forgot Jeff Carters the only player that played last night in a penguins uniform.

Kap has the same amount of points this season as Carter but in 9 less games... And can still skate and keep up. Carter sucks now, man.

Wait, so Hextall felt waiving Kapanen was worthy of a press conference?

This isn’t necessarily untrue. Carter is not fit to play in the role he’s been assigned. It’s also the least thing that should be worrying anyone who is a fan of the penguins. Having Crosby and Malkin just doesn’t make them a contender anymore.

Really? Because Boston's core is old and they are the best team. They have a better overall team and a healthy goalie who is killing it. Like I said, I could hand pick a bottom 6 that works under the cap that would make this team a contender.

It never did without a good supporting cast, no matter their age... Same for Toews and Kane... Or McDavid and Dries.... Mario and Jagr.... I could keep going, there's many many examples over the years.

Jeff Carter is cooked man...what a hill to die on hahaha

Yup. Bergeron is older than Sid and Geno... I believe Krejci is too... Marchand turns 35 this year.

They also play a way different style of hockey that Sid not Geno will ever buy into. I get it, you’re a fan and want to believe so singling out one guy and placing the blame solely on him helps. It’s a great coping mechanism. I use weed and alcohol though.

Sid and Geno are still producing, our bottom six is garbage. There is not one good player on it and our goaltender has a chronicle hip injury so we're screwed

I've never ever put all the blame on one player though.. Not once... Actually maybe DeSmith a few times...by my estimation he's the main reason they've lost out on about 10 to 14 standings points this season. I've never blamed
anything on just Carter. He is a part of the poop supporting cast this season.

You haven't watched the Bruins much this season have you?... They're not playing the same way when they won the cup in 2013 at all. It's not what you think it is.

Should be pretty well documented around here by now about my relationahip with Mary J haha I get that coping mechanism

If carter were a 4th line rw and could play pk. Maybe help on the 2nd pp and costs a mil I don’t think anyone would complain. But he can’t hold 3c responsibilities and at this point he should be year to year. Hex never should have given him a multi yr deal at this point.

This team has a lot of holes. 3c is probs the biggest.

The 4th isn’t even nhl caliper and they have 1 solid d man and either bottom dwellers or dumo.

Then there’s the g situation.

And rust isn’t a top 6.

They are producing, They both also trail Ryan Nugent Hopkins in pts. They aren’t what they once were. The top six isn’t good enough. Main reason I could care less about the bottom six until it’s fixed.

If you can push rust to the 3rd and get a better 3c it opens some things up

But I agree the top 6 isn’t that greatvv BBC anymore either. But who didn’t see that coming.
