I wanna see Kane go to NY just to see the wizardry of him, Tarasenko, and Panarin playing

With high asking prices for D & somewhat of a glut on the market I don’t see Schenn getting a 2nd.

San Jose Sharks

The field of suitors for Timo Meier has been whittled down to the New Jersey Devils and Vegas Golden Knights, according to Pierre LeBrun of TSN and The Athletic.

"Still work to be done," LeBrun said on Twitter. "Obviously, a fluid situation, but I think that's where things are at right now."

LeBrun also posted that the Sharks informed the Carolina Hurricanes late Saturday that they were no longer a candidate to trade for Meier. The 26-year-old forward can become a restricted free agent after this season and has been the subject of trade speculation throughout 2022-23.

Meier has missed three games with an upper-body injury. He is second on the Sharks with 52 points (31 goals, 21 assists) in 57 games this season.

Carolina Hurricanes

What direction the Hurricanes take next after missing out on Meier remains to be seen. There was speculation that Carolina was also interested in Chicago Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane, who can become an unrestricted free agent after this season.

Kane went back to Chicago before the Blackhawks' 4-3 shootout win at the Sharks on Saturday and signs continue to point to the 34-year-old landing with the New York Rangers. But the Hurricanes are thought to be looking for a scoring forward after losing Max Pacioretty for the season after he tore his left Achilles tendon for the second time Jan. 19.

Owner Tom Dundon told the "Daily Faceoff Live with Frank Seravalli" podcast Wednesday that the Hurricanes were "leaning more on the aggressive side than ever right now."

"I think we've got ourselves in a position, with the amount of assets we have for the future and the age of our team and where we are, that we can probably be a little more aggressive giving up something in the future to increase our odds today without changing the window much, whatever that means," Dundon said.

Oh dear god let them trade for JTM

Could go down to the wire on Schenn. Wouldn’t be surprised if he stays & then resigns a 1yr deal here. Either way I’d be fine with it.

On Boeser I don’t see a solid offer coming for him. Canucks aren’t giving him away just cuz fans want it. Offseason is more likely imo.

If PA bends on retaining on Boeser most I could see is 1.65m. Eats up the 2nd of 3 retentions. Bo is only for this season. Cap space to retain for one other trade for this season is leftover. More trades to happen before the former has a chance the latter seems inevitable.

Sabres 5-2 after 3 quick goals. Caps could be upping the urgency for a trade? Sabres should be buyers.

Tuch injured. Could that make Boeser more sought after?
