A very good Kings team on Friday and then Winnipeg on Sunday.

The stretch from March 4 thru 11th is just massive

3/4 Detroit
3/7 Buffalo
3/9 Pittsburgh
3/11 Wash

Literally the only way any of these kids would’ve got a shot is the situation we’re presently in. Durandeau looks good hopefully he keeps it up…

There’s hope internally for third and fourth line players at a very nice price. Maybe one of them will develop into something more.

That’s an insane strip of games. By the end of it we will most likely know who is in or not.

Yeah I don’t think anyone expected a Holmstrom or Durandeau to play the way they have. To be fair they would’ve been called up a long time ago if that were the case. If they can play themselves anywhere into this lineup it’s huge for the reasons you stated. Look at the cost of our third or fourth line.

See if they can maintain their level of play. That’s the determining factor and more often then not they can’t. Holmstrom with a big goal tonight obviously but he would’ve been sitting if Lambert had another option. He alluded to that recently. I like what Durandeau is showing two games in but we’ll see. Hopefully he keeps progressing god knows we need him too.

That’s Thomas Hickey said in the broadcast earlier. I’d think it would be the opposite where they get more comfortable as they play?? Maybe not. Nonetheless, feeling more confident with the youth depth after seeing them perform successfully in somewhat pressure situations. As an organization the isles have overpaid for their nottpm six, arguably worth it when the identity line was in their prime. Will be nice if we can source some cheaper replacements internally.

They play on adrenaline and excitement of being called up and after that wears off you see what they have

Yeah unfortunately what usually happens with “kids” that come up. If any of them can slot into the bottom six on a full time basis it’s an absolute home run.

#Isles    Matt Martin on Ilya Sorokin:

“The more English he speaks, the yappier he gets around here.”

The question was about his calm demeanor in big situations and how he stays so level-headed.

It’s one or the other. Either you get Dufour or you get Durandeau.

Will the Rangers be Abel--sorry, Able--to Raise Kane?

It really wouldn't surprise me if this turns into another situation where the guy says he'll only agree to be traded to the Rangers and they get him for a 5th round pick and the stale crust from last night's pizza

Holmstrom can be a nice player if he is willing to go to the tough spots. He seems to have a good shot.

Despite the statements that he didn't want to play for the Isles, I would bet there might have been a chance but that died the moment Baezy went out

Islanders luck and Kane's hip would really go.
