I’ve said it a few times that I don’t believe Lou will move anyone either. But the reality is he should. Based on how teams are performing around us and with games in hand, it’s not likely we make the playoffs. I guess anything could happen, and I’d love for them to get in, but I’m not too confident.

Long term it would be better to move some players for picks, but Lou is not worried about long term.

It may not be likely that we get in, but good luck telling ownership their brand new $1B building will be empty for the rest of the season because we gave up.

Frankly, I think ownership has a part to play in Lou continuing to "go for it" after delivering on a new arena. They can't afford to have 40% attendance games on a regular basis.

It's just very bizarre how the sense of urgency was missing before the Bo trade and now it's critical to make the playoffs. Did ownership tell Lou the team needed to make the playoffs and the Bo move happened?

You’re 100% right. Ownership not only makes money in playoffs, but I’d imagine fans are more apt to re up their ticket plans or season tickets when the team is “winning”/playoff bound.

Lateral at best, in my opinion.

Personally, I’d rather have Eberle.

Teams are throwing this years and next years first and second round picks around like they’re nothing.

Been a while since we’ve seen this many trades especially before the deadline.

I get there are no guarantees with picks, but still very surprising seeing some players getting these picks.

The Leafs have no first or second round picks till 2027.

If they don’t make it out of the first round again you have to figure they will blow it up to some extent and recoup some of those picks. How hysterical would that be.

Rumors out there are saying Trotz wants Wahlstrom. Interesting stuff, but what would you get in return?

John Tonelli for HOF.

He doesn't even take the job until June 30th, who is saying that?

I applaud going for the Cup, but the East is stacked this year. I'm not sure I'd go all in for this year.

Barry and Wally did not exactly click as well.

Rosen reported that yesterday. Kinda funny since he benched Wally at the drop of a hat last year. suddenly he wants him? I don't know that Wally will bring a lot back at this stage, truth be told. Maybe we can send him and Bailey since Trotz thought Bailey was perfect for all occassions (PP, PK, Top Line, 6th skater)

This is my point. Barry and Wally did not seem to be on the same page or book. Maybe it's different if Barry does not have to coach Wally? I cannot comment on the other player you mentioned.

Allen is talking about it, we have to believe Trotz is on on everything taking place at this deadline purely out of respect for next season. There ar a lot of rumblings going on in Nashville.

Have a feeling there will be a couple big names that move in the next couple of days that nobody expected. Hopefully not to us.

No idea how the Islanders have enough at this point to trade for another big name?

I guess so. It's strange seeing these GM making all these moves like they were a asleep and are just waking up. The Rangers and all their moves are interesting. It's almost like they think they are an older team, and they think they have to go for it now?
