Very solid game by the Isles so far. And without JGP, Barzal and a couple others. Be interesting to see what Lou does, if anything, by deadline day.

Weak interference call there. The puck was at Romanov's feet

Agree. But think Lou will keep all pending UFAs in hopes of making a playoff run. Not sure I can argue if they keep playing like they did tonight. The games in hand might be our downfall but if your close, and playing without key players and still winning, I guess you gotta stay the course. Not sure I completely agree, but I don’t have a say.

It seem always in the past the Islanders would have games in hand and it never really helped them.

I feel playing extra games at the end of the season isn’t really an advantage with players be banged up or a little tired.

Following his post-game scrum, I had a chat with Semyon Varlamov about future. He tells me after 4-0 win in Winnipeg: "Do I want to be traded? Absolutely not. I want to stay with this team. I love this team. I want to stay here and re-sign. But it's out of my control."

Okay Varly, here's the plan. We deal you to a playoff team for a 1st...you come back in the offseason at $2,5m and all is good

Congrats to Barry on being Preds GM. I think it will be a good spot for him.

I heard a rumor that Barry is trying to lure Uncle Leo to the Preds to play on their first line.

13-36-47 (Eberle) in 59 games is WAY better 13-15-28 (Tito).

Eberle is gonna flirt with 20 goals/60 points yet again. Which is a hell of a lot better that anything Beauvillier ever produced.

That said, we need need Varlamov for the playoffs. So it’s a moot point.

I'm trying. No more mentioning certain current and former Islanders.

Was Palmieri an upgrade or a lateral move for eberle? Ebs meshed with barzal which a lot of guys have trouble doing

Lateral at best, in my opinion.

Personally, I’d rather have Eberle.

I understand the thought Palms was tougher and a better fit for the playoffs.
