The speech I would love to hear from Chevelallseasonoff on trade deadline day:

“The price we gave up was huge no doubt. I do wish all those prospects that we traded away nothing but success. Keeping on that note, I am excited to welcome Meier and Karlsson to the Winnipeg Jets organization. I want to express my utmost confident in the core that has been developed here and I believe in this teams ability to win the cup. I think that these 2 new acquisitions are going to take us to the top!”

The speech we will most likely here from Chevelallseasonoff:

“The price was too high, I made some phone calls, blah, blah, blah…………..”

Yea, I would also like to see this happening. Main stumbling block right off the bat is that Karlsson would have to waive his NTC. And as Anson Carter said on SportsNet the other night "90% of players with a NTC have Winnipeg on their list."

Don't know if that's true or not, but could be an issue although I realize others have waived their NTC to come here. For the record, I wouldn't want Anson Carter in his prime either!

Second issue is salary cap next season. However, do think it could be worked out especially with PLD said to be wanting out, and with the other RFA and UFA's we have.

Third issue is price - probably going to cost us two roster players (Piomk and Appleton?), two prospects (Lucius and Lambert? - or maybe the ask will be Heinola and Perfetti?)) and two draft picks (2024 1st and 2024 2nd?. But some of this price can be recouped.

So go ahead, Chey - do it! (if possible). If not go Meier and Chychrun! Now!!!

In my opinion, the only player that could make us serious cup contenders would be Karlsson.
Any of the others would likely help the Jets clinch a playoff spot and maybe win a round.
The current players need to start showing management that they are committed to winning NOW, before Chevy starts to mortgage the future.

Perfetti - 8 weeks out again!
Lucius- glass

Our top 2 offensive prospects can’t stay healthy, even close to healthy during prime development years.

They both have very little trade value today

I like Konecny but he is a center and the Jets really don't need another center, at least in the short term. If they did have an immediate need then I'd be all in on Dylan Larkin as a rental.
- jetsnation

Konecny is a winger, not a center, even if he was a center the Jets could use another center, Dubois is likely leaving and Lowry is a 4th liner.

Perfetti is out a minimum 8 weeks with an upper body injury.

Based on the injury time, I would surmise that his injury is a fractured rib.

My mistake, yes a RW. Stupid because I mentioned him as a potential good acquisition within the last two weeks. Time for me to get a lobotomy ?

I agree with this. I also think that as far as current players go, management needs to show that they believe in this group. I am thinking as if I am Scheifele, Connor, Wheeler, PLD, Morrissey and Ehlers and what a trade for a player like Karlsson would do for player morale!

More importantly, the core players need to show management that they are worth believing in. Not seeing very much of this lately.

Our bottom 6 have fallen off a cliff the last 15+ games. Absolutely not a factor any night.

2 line team that gives up a ton of shots and need the goalie to play at near-Vezina level.

Now that can change around on its own, but if you believe you have a window here you need to make some moves

It makes me happy knowing we would likely be a proper contender literally giving Pionk away, and keeping Kovacevic. The Jets pro scouts have a massive weakness when it comes to evaluating defencemen.

Kovacevic is also a nice feather in the cap when it comes to showing what happens when elite AHL defenceman get a chance in the NHL, at any age.

The 20 worst NHL players would get destroyed by the 20 best AHL players, and I’d argue you could go into the triple digits and say the same

This is one aspect of what really frustrates me about this teams mgmt. Sad but true.

Either Chipman needs to become less involved or get a different GM. This aura of Chevy being some sort of whisperer is BS.

It would be nice and the GM has had time to make something happen in the last 20 games but nada.

So, the top 6 is now top 4, with Perfetti out and Wheeler moonlighting as a top 6 player.

I am sorry if this is pessimistic, but this seasons window is closing quickly and the Jets are soon to be hoping for a Wild card spot.

A lobotomy seems excessive.. lol

Could use a RW like Konecny, another center wouldn't hurt any, the mid and/or bottom six needs help however one wants to look at it, one of their top 6 wingers is out for the remainder of the regular season at least and the defense isn't exactly elite.

Idk, seems like way too much to get done within a week.

Maybe the core has quit on Chevy cause he's proven unable to provide a proper supporting cast to them, see the Jets elite AHL level bottom six as exhibit A.

I know I've lost belief in Chevy long ago.

It looks like our old friend, Marko Dano, has finally found his place in the hockey world.
CZECH LEAGUE 26-20-46 in 46 games and he leads the league in scoring.

Impressive ? Maybe not so much.......a 39 year old is 2nd, and a 40 year old is 5th (Plekanec). Only 2 players under the age of 30 in the Top 10.

Not sure if they have bottles of Gatorade or Geritol behind the benches.

- bennythehat

Still raging about Dano all these years later.. 🤣

He'd easily be one of this teams best bottom six players right now.

This is a good example of a team that was cruising and the GM didn't augment aside from bringing in more waiver wire pickups.

Good bye Scheif, thx for the memories. Can't see him to re-signing here if the GM will not or can't augment a team that was cruising and did nothing about it.

A Montreal Expos analogy.

No, don't go all in next Friday, this team is not worth investing good assets into and there's far too many gaping holes to fill in a week.

Rip off the bandage and tear it down to the studs, there's no hope for this group and nothing left to salvage, some of the few guys that you'd like keep and build around are your most valuable trade chips so make the tough decision and move them for the best returns of futures you can get.

Being sellers is not out of the question.

Would MTL be interested in PLD now instead of 2025? Probably

Would trading Dillon really hurt us at this point? No

Chevy has a tough week ahead

The problem with Chevallseasonoff is that he acts like a conventional GM in an unconventional market. After 12 years of not being able to think outside the box, being unable to draft effectively after #20 in the first round, and not being able to sell the market to potential UFA’s and players with Winnipeg on their NTC’s, its time to say bye bye to taking seasons off!

Fans should be apologizing to Helle for Bronx cheering.

Wasn't his fault that his team hung him out to dry. I wasn't there and switched the channel at about the 8 minute mark in the 1st, but that's very embarrassing Bronx cheering Helle when the guy has performed outstanding and been a loyal and performing Jet.

I had to switch the channel due the teams performance and listening to Kevin Sawyer, who is just totally annoying and nauseating.

Shame on those fans...... they should be Bronx cheering the useless GM and mgmt for their lack of proaction during the last 20 games.

Chevaluselessoff is totally useless and this constant talk of his whisperer genius mgmt and draft prowess is nauseating.
