Folks remember this about Chychrun, they have a " Verbal Agreement" to trade him to a contender. Things are very quite on the trade front with Adams and CO. as of now I was told last night. I don't know if that's good or bad also, nothing more on the Blues D men as of now either. You have to wonder. - SABRES 89
Now that you see Samuelsson Power can play together. Chychrun makes sense. Put him with Dahlin would give you a pretty strong Top 4 |

Dahlin - 10
Power - 8
Chychrun - 8
Sammy - 4.5
Backfill your last 2 with vet minimum and/or rookie contracts.

Sounds more like this team is better than they expected, but they aren't willing to change adjust their long term plan.
I'll be fine with that, if they follow through and flip VO/Mitts for D. More questions if they triple down on Mitts, Joker, Bryson.

That's it, things change and you need to be able to alter your plans and it doesn't seem like they were ready for that. |

That's where the horrible irony kicks in, Tage turning into Tage means they never needed to tear down in the first place. All the deals getting kicked around are near reversals of what they already did, but worse value.
Losing Ullmark, Montour, and Sam have given the current roster absolutely nothing and they are very similar to the players they are interested in now.

Kansas City, Houston or Saskatoon?
The NHL finally has alignment where every team in the Eastern Conference team is in the Eastern time zone, while every team that isn't, is in the West. Toronto's not getting that 2nd team, not by relocation anyway. |

See above. Atlanta won't happen for the same reason Toronto won't.

Problem is take them away then they become the largest market without an nhl team so its going in circles. I dont think he ever moves them
im corrected houston is the largest 4th largest city phoenix is 5th |

I agree but I think atlanta will get one of the next 2 teams, even if that means the sens or sabres move/get sold |

By TV market, Houston is bigger than Phoenix. If the Coyotes get moved, they're staying out West.

The bottom line is that in order for expansion/relocation to work in the NHL, the team has to be really good, really fast. Nobody wants to watch the new local team get their asses kicked night in and night out. |

Kim's health
new hire of John Roth to run it like a business
lease ends in 2 years and nothing on arena upgrades
it would be sold for much more than purchased

I read somewhere that Bettman said something along the lines of the owners not approving a sale for less than $750 million. If you wanted to move them, you'd be paying close to $1 billion total after the relocation fee. The Sabres are still not worth anywhere close to that, not in this market. No NHL team outside of Toronto or New York City is worth that. |

i said im corrected... my issue is all larger markets are even more non hockey market. I dont seel them going to austin el pas etc tx..... San Diego/ Jacksonville blah not gonna happen
Indy/Portland,,,,,, maybe but prob not
With work i see a ton of transplants going to Boise and Albuquerque. Boise would have a few city centers to draw from and would be an instant rivalry with seattle as make a nice pod of Sea,Van,CGY,EDM,SJ Boise division
Albuquerque which reminds me a lot of buffalo when im there. Vegas,ABQ,PHX,COL,LA SJ |

The outrage would be immense and BEttman knows how many eyeballs our fans are to his ratings. |

The reason I bring up Kansas City is that already they have an new(ish) arena ready to go.

We have to take TV ratings with a massive grain of salt. It doesn’t tell the whole story.
IE)
12% in Buffalo is 132,000
2% in LA is 360,000
I don’t think Buffalo ever moves because we are a “hockey market”
But TV ratings to show popularity is a big miss from me and will continue to be. |
