Alex Ovechkin landed back in D.C. this morning and is back at the Capitals practice facility, per team. He will most likely skate today. Practice is at noon.

Hell, if we would have claimed Wayne Simmonds we could have let Peterka watch that one from the press box, and old Wayne could have beat someone up.

I think the Sabres kids and where they are in their development have become an average team at best.

The leafs are an elite team that showed how wide of a talent gap we have.

If you added Timo Meier or chicken man last night, we still get crushed

Power joker jj Quinn tage Okposo olofsson and a few others were really overwhelmed last night

The tage line got steam rolled by the orielly Taveres Marner line

And fyi at the end of the game when the Sabres did score. The leafs mainly rolled out their 3rd and 4th no name guys

Everyone knows that's not Reasonable, but again what goalie is out there that has good numbers and 2 years or so term left? I really see one, Carter Hart and that is going to cost you but I still think you can get him out of Philly.. maybe it cost you a first and a prospect and roster palyer but I would do it.

Then you have a young starting NHL goalie for 2 years then you can transition Levi to the starters role and trade Hart at the end of 24-25 season hopefully for that 1st rounder that you used on him..

Adams should look into acquiring Gibson, UPL his backup, would lead right into Levi taking over after some AHL time. Everytime FL plays Gibson, they put 50 shots on him and he just keeps stopping pucks. Dude gets hung out to dry while being shelled.

However if you add a Chicken Man and a Meier the team itself looks very different.

If last night showed anything it showed the Sabres are still missing key important players.

Top 4 D man, more offensive help in the top 6 and obviously a true starting goaltender.

The real question is does Adams have it in him to see the need and pull the trigger to at least check off one or even two of those things between now and the start of next season?

I think your are just perceiving the Leafs are more talented. Leafs top 5 scores vs Sabres top 5 are 295 pts Sabres vs 296 Leafs, the top 5 represent 80% of both teams points.

We can score with ANY team, we can't defend or stop the puck. Our top 6 forwards are talented and pretty damn solid. Get another top 4 d and a goalie this team can compete with ANYONE, IMO......

you can make stats look like ANYTHING... I am just looking and all the stats to date. We have no issues scoring we have issues stopping the puck and defending against good teams.
